Re: Delta bought some of WJ because the pilots are so cheap?
Lol Bede...you do realize WJ RIGs and your 50% OT is so far behind them it is comical. For example your 4 hrs duty credit has to be the worst in the world. Delta's min duty credit is 2.0, American's is 3.0, Southwest's is 4.35, United and a few others have 5.0. Definitely something to improve for t...

Re: Delta bought some of WJ because the pilots are so cheap?
Does WJ seriously only pay 1.5 and not double for OT? Sort of. Like Alaska, American, Breeze, Frontier, Hawaiian, JetBlue, Southwest, Sun Country and United, the starting Open Time rate is 1.5x. However, like Alaska, American, Sun Country and United, the company often puts out Open Time at 2x. At B...

I think the point is no one likes him outside of a few Jazz hardcore loyalists who don't mind union dues going to Lincolns & trips to Hawaii

Re: Encore hiring Foreign Workers??
What's embarrassing is they convinced enough Encore pilots to vote Yes to pathetic wages by saying they were going to shut down the operation.
Now they can't find pilots to fly their "grounded" Q400s so need to find some cheap labour from India.
Would they even come for such shit wages?

Re: WestJet Encore applies for LMIA to hire foreign pilot
First step, try to get foreign pilots. Second step, start a new "Open Skies" agreement and allow US regionals to do point-to-point service in Canada. Third step, destroy Canadian aviation altogether. But US regionals pay literally double. Sometimes more. If they operated in Canada, those big salari...

Re: What should happen to the Yes voting members of the MEC?
As this "World Class Contract" ages like a rotten diarrhea dump fermenting in the tank of a B777 out of Delhi, what should the members that voted 'Yes' do? Resign? Get recalled? Go into hiding? Post a selfie about some shit about "Moving Together"? Maybe another video from the hills of the Taliban ...

Re: 67% yes
There are 2 terms all pilots should become familiar with: Extended Minimum-Crew Operations (eMCOs) where single-pilot operations are allowed during the cruise phase of the flight, with a level of safety equivalent to today’s two-pilot operations Single-Pilot Operations (SiPOs) , where, at a later st...

Re: Flight attendants are only paid when the plane is in motion.
Not that long ago being a Flight Attendant was never designed to be a career. It was a job for a young, preferably female, attractive ( don't lose you mind, happens to be a fact,) to do for five years. At which point the Airline would hope you would move on, or they also fired F/A's for the slighte...

At least the Flight Attendants know what they are worth
Air Transat Flight Attendants rejected their TA with a 98% "No" vote I guess they aren't buying the management Kool-aid like us Transat pilots... Looks like the back end leads this airline when it comes to knowing your worth https://www.reuters.com/business/aerospace-defense/air-transat-flight-atten...
