Flight Training wait lists??
Hello aviators I chatted with a new Private Pilot in training that commutes an hour and half away to do his training because the schools near him have a 6 month to one year wait list to begin training. Is this true and why such a long time to wait? Lack of aircraft, instructors, etc? This is in Sout...

Renewing Class 4 FI rating (flight test)
Hello aviators I am renewing a class 4 flight instructor rating with a flight test sometimes the next few days and was looking how it looks today in terms of what they really look for (examiner). Nerves are killing me but have done it before so just wondering if anyone has done it recently and what ...

Paying for an application fee online (Flight Instructor)
hello aviators My instructor filled out the application for a flight instructor renewal as I am about to do the flight test. He told me to go online to pay the $30 fee and give him the invoice number so he can fill it out on the form but for the sake of it all, I can't seem to find the right TC page...

Aviation Booklet - Flight Test ??
Hello aviators , quick question.
I applied for a new aviation booklet back in April as my expired at the end of May.
Can I still do a flight test past May 31st with my present booklet or do I have to wait for the new one before doing a flight test.
Any thoughts would help.

Flight Test Examiner Requirements
Hello aviators
Always wondered what requirements are needed to become a Transport Canada Flight Test examiner to conduct flight tests?
I have seen some info on the TC site just wanted to hear from any individuals that have done it recently.

Flight Instructor Flight Test Tips
Hello aviators
It’s been almost 10 years that I did my last class 4 renewal flight test and I have another one coming real soon as I’m renewing it again.
Any tips ? Do they come down hard on you? Typical scenarios that they’ll throw at me?
Any tips or advice would be appreciated.

Re: Any place in Canada with little to no waiting list for instructor rating?
Many schools will prioritize instructor training for students who have done CPL/PPL, etc at the school. That way they know them and are prepared to hire them as instructors. This is especially true if the school has a lack of class 1 instructors and can only train limited numbers of instructors. So...

Re: Any place in Canada with little to no waiting list for instructor rating?
Hey everyone, I think I have called most flight schools in Canada, and couldn't find one that has any opening for an instructor rating. Most are looking into 2026. Anyone knows of a school the has a place for instructor rating student on accelerated basis only? (I can't afford to move anywhere for ...

Good morning leafs, I am a flight instructor and has been for almost 6 years now. I appreciate your enthusiasm; this side of the industry can benefit from peop...

Can you manage Stratford? Andy there is a local legend. I paid Andy a visit yesterday and dropped off a resume for an instructor position and he remembered me from the last time I came and saw him . He truly is a great guy and runs a great school. I’d love to maybe fly for him one day. Consider Str...

Class 1 instructors - fewer and fewer?

I’ve been trying to renew a flight instructor rating and have had difficulties in finding a full time instructor. Most of them seem to be part time Class 1 instructors and full time airline...

Re: Should I send a resume now or wait?
I would definitely start reaching out to chief flying instructors now, you can send a resume with an estimated completion date. Just remember weather, maintenance, and a few other factors outside of your control can delay things. Better yet I’ll pay a personal visit at some of the schools in person...

The one thing differentiating you from the next guy with sub 300TT is that you are willing to actually do the road trip necessary to meet people face to face, shake their hand, and start luggging bags on day 1, whereas all your competition stays in mom's basement in the GTA, right? Sorry to sound f...

Metro 3 ( dangerous as they say it is )
Hello aviators,
I might have an opportunity to fly a metro 3 but I’ve been reading and hearing it’s a dangerous beast to fly ?
I’d like to hear from other pilots that have flown it or still fly it if this is true ?

The PCC doesn’t need a flight test, just a check with a company check pilot if I’m not mistaken?

PPC Piper Navajo 350 (Training times?)
Hello aviators
I am trying to get a feel on how long approximately and the training and testing behind the PPC on the chieftain?
Also is the PCC “lighter” on the training and testing side?
Appreciate any input
