Weird. So does the 12 month period for MBG run from Jan 1 to Dec 31 or June 1 to May 31st?

Re: The TA
Monthly MBG at Air Canada is DBM dependent and between 60 and 72 hours for block holders, between 68 and 82 hours for reserve pilots. First two pay steps FO/RP are guaranteed higher of above or 75 hours. Depending on fleet, pilots are also guaranteed overseas and nav pay. 71 hours on WBs, 10 hours ...

I don't think Carson was first. There was also WestJet Encore. Also some flight school in Gatineau requested an LMIA for instructors, Select Aviation. Tons of crop spraying companies have applied. A few helicopter operators as well.

Good luck to you guys. The media is reporting Transat gained 50% wages and most senior pilots are now earning $388,000. That is the figure to surpass.

Re: Aircraft Import/Ferry
I see. So if the above gets you a Commercial multi-IFR do you really need that ATPL conversion course, or can you just write their ATPL exam(s) and do a type rating and get your ATPL that way? Yes, the course is mandatory for all ATPL in FAA land. If you have a TC ATPL, and don't do the course, but...

Re: Strike outcome desires
Looks like a great contract to me. Hopefully we can get something similar soon. Congrats. When does WestJet and AC enter a legal strike position? I see the AC contract expires in September 2027. Does it normally take a year of negotiations after the contract expires in order to be able to issue a s...

I can't help but wonder if the AC flight attendants helped as well. I didn't hear any mention of Section 107 this time. But I'm an outsider so maybe the Transat pilots also stared down that threat.

Re: Emirates after AC
The media indoctrinated the minds of boomers with the idea that younger generations "blew their money on avocado toast" and therefore "don't leave your money to them." That is the programming. Wealth transfer doesn't benefit the banks at all and must be stopped or else the amount of loan interest th...

Re: Emirates after AC
So I'm curious, what’s it like working at AC? Is it another tent full of clowns like the ones running around here on AvCanada, or does real life come with a slightly higher standard? Once you get on the 777 it's great. The Captains are kind, chill, dudes that have nothing left to prove. It's the mi...

Re: CBC coverage- Pilot’s frustrated ATC rant
Are there diversity initiatives at NavCanada at all? According to a whistleblower in the US they have created a lot of staffing problems. Pearson said the strain on air traffic controllers began during the Obama administration. "DEI ideologues ... decided that the color of the controller was more im...

Re: Pilot Hiring 2025
Why do the PIT classes have 737 short and long courses offered? The short course is for 737 type rated pilots and shaves around 2 weeks of training. Less training means cheaper cost of a new hire. Obviously not everyone joins with a 737 type rating and thus the long course is for those guys If no o...

Complex systems won't survive the competence crisis. We need to start getting paid for delays as the majority of them occur before pushback. It's only going to get more and more common.

Okay let's do that then. If there is no change to the T4 the company won't have any problem with it right?Stu Pidasso wrote: ↑Tue Jul 29, 2025 11:34 am How about if you want to be paid from Check-in to Check-Out, we'll simply reduce your hourly wage and your T4 will remain unchanged.
