i think as said before it all depends on what you are doing and where. as maintenance high gear has a less chance that i will have to fix a hole in the belly from a rock, stick, or stump. i have only heard that the aircraft with low gear are faster.

i'm sorry i may have helped to lower the totals on your poll as i am an apprentice i am at the bottom of the scale. though it might be interesting to see how many of the people that have answered the poll on the lowest end are apprentices or making a low wage.

one of the ame's that i worked under did this same thing got his ame licences and then his pilots licences (helicopters) and worked on building hour well still wrenching. he is now flying now and i believe he started flying rev. in his early 30's.

which lockwire pliers did you get? i got the tiger wave pliers from snap on and have had no problems, though i do have to make sure the direction selector is all the way to the turned in the direction that i want.

as for mac they also sell the tiger wave pliers i am happy with these.
