Re: Cargojet or Flair?
The Cargojet numbers are pretty accurate especially with a bit of a bottleneck in the training department. Line indoc can be slow. Once you’re released its basically unlimited OT especially for FO’s so you could see 50-60 a month if you push. I was scheduled for 55 this month ended up with 35 after...

Cargojet or Flair?
Hi, Quite a new pilot here with some jet experience. I had the luck to get an offer from both Cargojet and Flair Airlines but hesitating between the two of them. Context, I was employed by Lynx Air and got furloughed as they stopped operations, but it seems that Flair are pretty solid (even though t...

Re: 1200TT pilot with jet time advice
Hi guys,
Sorry for the misunderstanding with the Q400. I really like turboprops, you should have a look at my 100 email sent to 703 operators back when I had 250h

Re: 1200TT pilot with jet time advice
Thanks for the tip @MD11, I will probably look into corporate flying before turboprops. The idea of a bond is not something that I can bear honestly, unless the gig is really good. Jazz is a great option but only if I get the jet time. Heard that you can’t really bid or pick your base/fleet so getti...

Re: 1200TT pilot with jet time advice
Thank you all for the tips. Haven’t got any interviews with Cargojet yet. Yes, I really thought about getting my PIC time, I have 120 PIC time from flight school and a LOT of PICUS time from my old operator on the 737, but I don’t think that TC are going to approve these hours for my ATPL minimums, ...

Re: 1200TT pilot with jet time advice
I did apply to Cargojet but haven’t received any call yet, quite early though as I applied few days ago. I assisted to a virtual conference and they said that the 1500 requirement can be adjusted for some candidates. Not feeling like an exception but we’ll see how it goes in the next few days. Thank...

Re: 1200TT pilot with jet time advice
Thanks a lot for the tips. I was told that Encore and Jazz will gladly take me. I am honestly not chasing a seniority number so I am kind of thinking about maybe applying to both operators, don’t know if it’s the right choice though. Medevac sounds good but I suppose it will mean being on call and n...

Re: 1200TT pilot with jet time advice
Appreciate your advice, especially the last part. Never knew that I was entitled just because I got jet time, or because I genuinely asked for help from respectable, reliable and professional gentlemen.

1200TT pilot with jet time advice
Hi fellow aviators, Context here, I was born and raised in Canada but managed to find my first job in another country and got some jet time (900) on the 737. I got recently employed by Lynx Air and moved back to Canada but as you all know, it went sideways and we all lost our job. I didn’t have the ...

Re: RAIC application- Travel for more than 90 days
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I stayed in two countries for more than 90 days. One was a sabbatical year (a little less than a year) and the other one working as a pilot for one year and a half. I will provide all the police certificates and visas though.

RAIC application- Travel for more than 90 days
Hi there, I’m going tomorrow for my YYZ RAIC appointment as an airline pilot. I’m born in Canada but have been working outside of the country for two years. I added to my application all the information, I even printed a copy of my foreign license, my foreign airline badge and two letters from the d...

Re: IATRA exam 2019
Just passed my IATRA today. Exam was the 008-03. I prepared The exam with the wise pilot question bank and the content that was shared on this forum. Questions that you should expect from what I remember: 1. Class B dimensions 2. SAR/SGR 3. Max speed below 10000’ 4. Compute critical point (four engi...
