Re: DEI And Aviation — Boeing’s take.

Competence in any given skill set is commonly charted on a bell curve. On the left are people with lesser abilities, at the top are those with average ability, and on the right those with greatest abilities. In an attempt to perfectly balance gender/race/whatever, when the minority candidate group ...

Re: New hire bids

Easy : Take-off, steep turn, hold, engine failure, once the exercise is complete, they give back the engine for an ILS approach. Done. If unstable, a go-around, followed by a visual approach backed up by the ILS will be performed. Do you know what the hold type is? VOR, NDB, GPS. Got a sim ride in ...

Re: 152 Crash CEJ4 - August 29th

Depending on the circumstances, I am wondering if the TSB should have added a reminder of the importance to monitor the airspeed particularly carefully in a situation of unexpected poor performance(or expected poor performance). Anyways, if they won't, I will. Isn't this basic airmanship? Where doe...

Re: 152 Crash CEJ4 - August 29th

For whatever reason, they'll only lean in a climb above 3000', or only in cruise. Always follow the POH and engine manufacturer's recommendations, but generally you shouldn't lean in the climb below 3000ft as CHTs will rise too high. Full rich at 5300ft shouldn't be an issue in terms of causing eng...

Re: 152 Crash CEJ4 - August 29th

Didn't lean the mixture on a day with the density altitude at 5300' at max takeoff weight. I have never flown a 152. The POH suggests a 475' climb rate. Would full rich really reduce performance so enough that one would crash or is it possible that sloppy flying would have to be included to get to ...

Re: Jazz courses in the next few weeks

I’m curious as to the experience levels in recent or coming classes. Would anyone in these past classes or coming ones care to shed a light? For sure. I was hired in Nov 2023. In my class of 14: 1 ATPL 2 with former 705 xp (no ATPL) 3 fresh out of school through pathways program The rest (8) of us ...

Thanks
No Prob,
I've got a couple buddies in the March 11 class.

As for the schools, I think one was WWFC, one was out west, and one was somewhere in Quebec

Re: New hire bids

I wonder what the experience level of this class of new hires is ? I was hired in Nov 2023. In my class of 14: 1 ATPL 2 with former 705 xp (no ATPL) 3 fresh out of school through pathways program The rest (8) of us flew other jobs, such as instructing, surveying, 703s, etc. and in the ballpark of 6...

Re: Jazz sim hiring process

Thanks again for all your help. Now a new question generally after the sim, how long for a response? If you "failed," you'll hear back within a few days. If you "passed," it may be a few weeks before you hear back. Usually the first sign that you "passed" is your references are contacted. Either wa...

Re: Jazz sim hiring process

Thanks for the answers it's very appreciated. Any Idea of the ride? Are you changing seat half point? They will let you fly from whatever seat you are most comfortable in. If your partner wants to fly from the same seat as you , then you would have to switch for the PM duties. The profile is the ba...

Re: Jazz sim hiring process

Thanks for the answers it's very appreciated. Any Idea of the ride? Are you changing seat half point? You do the flight twice. Once as PF once as PM. You can fly from whatever seat you're more comfortable in. Flight consists of: normal takeoff, climb, steep turn, hold entry, engine failure (they gi...
