Re: What will AC Pilots get for a bonus?

The "logic" was that the profit share was an unknown certainty and the guaranteed pay raises accounted for the occasional profit share. I’m for it. Pay me today on a negotiated scale rather than maybe a bonus once a year based on conditions someone else controls. I wanted both. The EBITDAR floor is...

Re: Likelihood of Hiring without 705 Time?

There's no "right" path. But 2000tt is definitely a must. Porter seems like a good path to AC and if it doesn't work out might be a good place to hang your hat.

Man people read into posts way too much! I don't think that's what Bede was saying at all! I don't know him, but I'm pretty sure he'd agree that everyone needs big uplifts.

Re: Did Air Canada pilots really take concessions in this negotiating climate?

The MEC Chair doesn't do the negotiating. To be fair - the dumbest, least informed and least engaged members are usually the loudest. Especially on an anonymous forum where there's no social cost to being an opinionated moron. Exactly Aerkavo...this F'n idiot thinks the MEC Chair doesn't do the neg...

Re: We won't leave a penny on the table!!

Didn't say that, did I? You absolutely inferred it. Could also have been saying, had you gone on strike and gained more, that could’ve bankrupted the company. I'm saying it's a ridiculous thing to be calling foul seeing the company spending money after the fact, or the stock rising. Had the contrac...

Re: Lanyards?

Good post Texarcana, also for anyone curious, not once have lanyards come up or been discussed on any of the flights I've operated. Seems to be a weird social media hangup. This is almost everything. It’s like when people emerge from their respective echo chambers and find that the world as a whole...

I commute, I don't think it's "hell." Depends on where you're commuting from I suppose. That said I do so from a base that is supposedly terrible.

Re: 67% yes

Honest question. What did you guys realistically expect for wage gains? You have to remember this new deal is almost completely costed with wage improvements. If you don't like the wage gains, then you don't even want to hear about the complete lack of other gains. Oh I hear you. The wages were pre...

Re: It is imminent.......be ready.

This is starting to get very real. Charlene has been given the unanimous authorization of the MEC to call for a strike vote at any time. The other side of the table is not taking your need to be compensated in a similar fashion to your direct peers very seriously. They themselves are using Delta, U...

Re: Air Tindi Twin Otter Down

They do ramp/flight line these days?? Yeah, they still do. You start off on the ramp or as an FA on the Dash, then they'll put you on the twin otter or king air after a few months. Except once you're typed you'll still be working the ground part-time. Had a couple FOs I flew with that came from the...

Haha yeah I had my red one on in sim the other day... No brass around though. It's a pretty common theme though that pilots want the red one but can't get their hands on one. Last P2P guy I flew with was all out.
