Re: Top Paid AMEs
Maybe the math doesn't work because you don't understand the difference between billed and earned. You obviously don't own a company and do contract work. There are lots of opportunities around the world for Canadian AME's to make a substantial amount of money while living in nice places. Typically...

It’s a good start. We need one more “no cake retirement” at the very top

3 yr opener, with compensation survey at that time. I feel it’s a solid deal, especially for Encore AMEs
Working on the Encore ESP limit would be a great next step.

Re: For Real?
Meh, I contracted for close to those wages in 04-05, that was decent money then. I still had to put up with crazy knife throwing karate guy and drunken locked myself out of my room in my underwear guy. I suspect the caliber of contractor hasn’t gotten better. Not much of a chance I would do it today.

Re: Airline AME PayScale
The likelyhood of the Encore AME wage coming up in the next year or so is almost certain, and like I said there is a bonus structure Outside of the WJ compensation norms for the start up guys.
As for Pat, guys who talk like that are seldom worth what they think they're worth.

Re: Airline AME PayScale
The Encore payscale is a bone of contention with mainline WJ AMEs as well. Mgmt is hoping to have Encore as a stepping stone to mainline AME jobs, a practice that IMHO is questionable. The talk is that unless there is special circumstances that all mainline hiring will come from Encore. There are so...

I find wages in AB an BC are starting to go up, the comany I work for just did a pay rise to match what most of the industrial trades, oil field, electonics trades are paying. Appr. wages match what a HD mech would make to start at Finning about 17.00 to 18.00 an hour and top rung M1/M2 is about 34....

Right now were still renting monsters from the Ukraine (I've seen them at YEG loading tanks to go to Afganistan) for the price we paid to send those tanks to Afganistan we could have made a dent in the price of one C-17. Our four aircraft (the C-17's) could be put in to the proposed NATO transport p...
