Night Rating Aeroclub? LEGAL?

Is it legal to do a night rating at an Aeroclub that doesn't have an AOC or a private operator registration? My interpretation of CARs 406.03(2)(a) makes me think yes, because there is an an "OR" at the end of the paragraph, meaning the aeroclub doesn't need an AOC or a private operator registration...

Re: Nav to USA? Instructing in USA possible? Canada FTU

We're a large school and unfortunately, the CFI and accountable executive provide very little to no supervision with little guidance. That's really alarming. Yup! It's alarming for me too! I almost got my class 2. Currently applying every school around that is decent. In the meantime, since my curr...

Re: Nav to USA? Instructing in USA possible? Canada FTU

That's more of a question to ask your CFI and the accountable executive at the FTU. Besides the EAPIS, Customs and flight plan requirements, the FTU may not allow it due to insurance, etc... We're a large school and unfortunately, the CFI and accountable executive provide very little to no supervis...

Nav to USA? Instructing in USA possible? Canada FTU

I work at an FTU in Canada. I'm thinking of doing a Navigation to the USA with a student pilot (Dual Instruction). Is that legal?

The FTU is based in Canada. The plane is registered in Canada and it would be for the issuance of a Canadian License (PPL)

Thanks,

Re: want BUY Aerocourse DIGITAL ATPL Ground School Manual

Is the ground school manual the material that’s covered in the class? Not 100% sure, since I haven't attended the ATPL seminar, but I have the 3rd edition physical book. It's about 700 pages and it's quite detailed. I assume it's much more detailed than the seminar. Similar to how From the Ground U...

Re: Human Factors For Aviation Book

This page says that a PDF version exists somewhere in the TC cloud. https://publications.gc.ca/site/eng/9.895259/publication.html You used to be able to click a "View PDF" link on that page and view a really high quality version of it, similar to how they publish the Flight Training Manual for free...

Hello, I would like to buy the DIGITAL ATPL Ground School Manual from aerocourse if anyone has it. They give you 1 year access if you attend their seminars. It will be linked to your account on the website. I just need a few hours of access. This is what it looks like: https://i.imgur.com/qpWGGkm.j...

TC EXAMS CHANGE How Often?

Just wondering how often does TC change their written exams (PPAER, CPAER, INRAT, IATRA, AIRAF, AIRAT, FITEN, etc)?

Do they change them often? I head on things like the IATRA, it essentially the same.

Making flashcards to help me stay current and help others study.

The Human Factors Instructor's Guide is available on the TC website for free in PDF format. You'll likely have to dig for it or email their publications desk, but it is there. Thanks Daniel! I was actually able to find the Basic Handbook (TP 12863E) and uploaded it to Library Genesis so that everyo...

Human Factors For Aviation Book

Just wondering if the Human Factors publications by transport canada are any good? I heard good things, but they are from 1999 so might be a bit outdated. Also, does the content in the Advanced Handbook cover everything in the other ones or do I need to buy all 3? https://tc.canada.ca/en/aviation/pu...

Re: CPL AOC Requirement Exceptions

There's actually a surprisingly lot you can do with an airplane to earn money without an AOC. You have to start in the Aeronautics Act and look at definitions. commercial air service means any use of aircraft for hire or reward; hire or reward means any payment, consideration, gratuity or benefit, ...

CPL AOC Requirement Exceptions

Hi, doing my instructor rating. Just curiously exploring the CARs. My question is, as a CPL holder, it is my understanding that you need to operate within an Organization holding AOC to be able to exercise your privileges of a commercial pilot. My question is, what are the exceptions to this rule? C...
