Re: Flight attendants are only paid when the plane is in motion.

FAs already have way better top ups than pilots. They need to stop complaining, and just try to negotiate a higher rate (they aren't up for contract until next year). For example if they don't get min contract rest on layover (fall below 10 hours I think) then they get total duty from check in on da...

Re: Let's go!!!

I would not work our current contract for 500k. Really? Don't you work at AC? Sounds like you signed up for the BS knowingly. You misunderstand what I'm saying. In the context of this new contract. If I had to choose between keeping the same working conditions and getting a ton of money, or taking ...

Re: Starting my Aviation career in Canada or Europe?

If it were me I’d fly in Canada until you have an ATPL. Pump out the hours ripping a Navajo or Caravan (will make you a better pilot) and then go to Europe after and go right to a LCC or legacy if you speak the language. If the AC contract ends up being dog water there’s a high probability I’ll be ...

Bingo.

I don’t think they realize the Pandora’s box they’re opening here.

Re: Is it that bad at AC for pilots? I mean food stamp bad!

You’re not wrong but we also joined this airline when you could buy a house for $450k in the lower mainland BC. This country has changed significantly and while 10 years ago I was ok with the conditions based on cost of living and how the figure looked, that’s not the case anymore. I 100% will consi...

Re: Let's go!!!

Fired Up Pilots ready to March. (and give me 5:30 min day, better vacation, training in the block, better reserve bidding and bidding in general and more). Not sure the corp has realized yet, but the demographics are a lot different than the past. Generationally and just age wise. Different prioriti...

Re: Did ACPA nearly cause a Scope Collision?

I’m especially not interested in listening to anything any YVR pilot has to say. That base acclaimed the worst reps for YEARS right up until what, 2022? Now you are switched on? You guys didn’t even put up a fight and run other candidates. Just sent buddy back to his cottage for multiple terms. Clo...

Re: 2Tentative2Agreement

I did in no particular order CDs to; YOW from YUL, YYJ/YCD/YXJ/YXT/YXY/SJC from YVR. The only one I felt was hard was YXY because it was a long flight home in the morning after only 4 hours in the hotel. The rest were pretty gravy. What's the duty limitation now on a check in after 7pm that has duty...

Re: 2Tentative2Agreement

I personally loved CDs back in my Jazz days. Check in 7-8pm, fly for 1-2 hours. Hit a hotel for 6 hours and fly home. Burn two days of your month, get two days worth of credit and it's like you were never gone. There's some great CDs out there that have 15-45 min long flights. People aren't just sit...
