Re: Your job to foreigners?
Actually Richie Rich I leave almost half what I earn in Canada IN Canada in the form of TAX. As a side note I actually work with a half dozen Canadian pilots every fire season in Australia and consider every one of them friends and look forward to seeing them each year. I guess this was addressed t...

Re: Your job to foreigners?
Just to make sure everybody understand what is the problem we try to solve here, temporary foreign workers come to Canada every year, to fill pilot positions. Some canadian carriers apply for use of TFW pretending no one meets their requirements in Canada. Aviation being a technical industry, servic...

Your job to foreigners?
Many seasonal pilot positions are now filled by temporary foreign workers. Many requests were made in Helicopter industry, leisure travel industry and crop dusting industry. Rationale is there is no qualified canadian pilots available or willing to take the position. We all know it is not true but S...

Re: Sunwing's plans for the 2013-2014 winter season.
$unwings is trying not to hire, or use, any foreign pilot for next winter. Their strategy is to get a STC approved for theB737 in order to operate it R/C. The first tests were done using a maintenance van in YYZ. Unfortunately, they lost control of it and it ended by the threshold of a runway. $unwi...

Re: From the TP 13794E AVIATION ENFORCEMENT POLICY MANUAL
I was under the impression that having no help for tc enforcement was going against ICAO. I do think the next step is civil aviation tribunal because it can be used both ways. Then, a judge will decide what's right and what's wrong. However, if Mr. Mathieu is a lawyer, watch for an ace in his sleeve...

Biz jet, I may be wrong but when I saw the engine on tests, it was in the #2 engine spot and the fan had the same size as the 3 others. I think the one on the extra mount is for the 320ng.

Re: Letter to Erica Usher of CIC
Politics is a funny thing, and a country that feels Canada is snubbing it, such as one of the big expat employers in the Asian market, may just put Canadians on its no hire list.. If I understand what you say trey cool, by protecting our canadian seats from being taken by Czech pilots ie., will mak...

Re: Sunwing to hire foreigners using the LMO method
In July 2012, guidelines for officers assessing reciprocal agreements were updated in the Foreign Worker Guidelines Manual (FW1). As part of that update, officer can now require a higher minimum proportion of Canadians employed abroad to foreign nationals employed in Canada ( ei., at least 75% ) wh...

Re: Sunwing to hire foreigners using the LMO method
@ morningwood I would suspect that the total numbers would be in our favour. How many Canadian Pilots are overseas flying in the sand box at any given time? Why would I go work overseas in countries where human rights doesn't exist, with my family, and leave a nice B737 pilot job based in my own cou...

Gilles, does it mean you got an answer from a ministry saying the purpose of this was due to cost saving instead of lack of qualified people. Or you understood it?

@tailgunner
Thank you for your support,
however, Canadian pilots at sunwing shouldn't be denied a j/s. Most of them wish to work with more canadian pilots year long instead of foreigners.
