Re: New CPA and flowthrough to Air Canada?
@loopa Jazz is only sinking if the water level drops due to like-minded pilots like you keep taking jobs at cheap companies like Sky Regional, Georgian and like you say, eventually Jetlines. Jazz has a pension, a strong union, and probably 1200 or more pilots who dont want to flow to AC and just wa...

Re: Air Canada Cadet Program
I won't be the least bit surprised to see the number of accidents increase though. Isn't that the debate though? I believe cadet programs are rather common in Europe and I don't believe their accident rates are appreciably higher than ours. We like to hang onto our the belief that paying our dues b...

Re: Question regarding pilot recruitment and the new website
As pilots, do we have to wait for the Successfactors site to list an opening under Pilot to be able to apply or is there a separate site? I was under the impression Westjet was still accepting flightcrew applications.

Intervals between 1st and 2nd attempts at Interview
Seems like a number of people I have talked to state that most folks are not successful in their 1st attempt yet quite a few make it on the 2nd try in the process... Was curious as to how long it was between calls from the first interview to calls to return for a 2nd attempt. Curious to also know wh...

Interviews/ PFO's/Medical/Course.....
Just trying to get an idea of how the pool system works... I realize the format is your score, then you either do very well and get on course within weeks, or are eventually get on course OR eventually get pushed out by higher scores on incoming pool candidates.... I have heard it often better to ge...

Re: TA1 and new hires
Based on the precedence and pattern of government imposed forced arbitrations lately, it would seem that Air Canada will get very near the terms they proposed in TA1 Hoping those in the know can explain in general terms what an imposed TA1 contract will mean to relatively new hires or future hires. ...

Re: 2012 Ground School
Well all i can think of is that at the time I only had 2200 hours and no ATPL. Did the background check, which I have had many for medevac jobs so can't see a problem there and the references they talked to all claimed to have given good references. I dunno I feel frustrated and defeated by this on...

Re: 2012 Ground School
There is also the background check too. But that comes after the medical and usually around the time of your reference check. In general the background check is last because they dont want to spook your current employer unless they've had you jump through all the hoops first. I would agree that you...

Hiring Pool Roll Call
Don't give up hope folks. There will probably be quite a bit of attrition too. Transat, WJ, AC, Qatar, etc will probably be hiring pilots from Jazz over the next few months. Yeah ditto on the email.... thats why I am very curious on how many people they have slotted in the pool for now.... would gi...

Have any of the folks who are in the pool have the references already checked? I was told they wont check your references until they know they have you slotted for a spot in groundschool....
Any idea how many guys are swimming in the pool right now?
I guess I'll start the count.....

Re: 2011 Ground Schools
Got the call from HR. Hiring has slowed down. Next 'late July' G/S will probably be it for the summer. Just wondering if anyone knows how they pick GS attendees from the hiring pool... I was told to expect the June 20th GS , but now that we're all in " the pool" I would assume all bets are off.... ...

Re: 2011 Ground Schools
Only one more GS is currently scheduled to follow the May 9 GS. If u defer, who's to say when the next one will happen? The May 30 GS had confirmed names a week ago, so there would be no deferring unless there was an extreme case. What I'm wondering is where all this talk of no more classes is comi...

Harder than the one for Air Canada or Jazz.
It's 2-3 person board with a bit of good cop/ bad cop.
