I'm with you Cat. While I think a bit of a thrill seeking personality is what got many of us into this industry, I also think those of us who manage to make a long life as a pilot do so after a rapid maturing of our attitudes and motivations. In the end, minimizing risk is the best policy.

You are the sum of your experiences. This is not the same as hours. Dealing with emergencies, new aircraft types, locations, weather conditions, and people is how you increase your experience and skill as a pilot. Don’t be in too much of a hurry to get to your retirement job. In most cases, once you...

They have a cronic problem. Fostering an intrest in aviation often leads people to jobs away from major centers. Also, the inflexable system prevents a lot of people from helping out intermittantly, even after jumping through more hoops than a circus.

I thought there was a DC3 on the west side of Pickle Lake that was accessible. You can see it on your way in to the water from Cat. On the mainland, west of the islands I think. (Could be your Beech though.)

Last I heard the Bear and VAL both got rid of their crew houses (though that was a year or so ago). Availability decreases rapidly with the approaching summer. If you're looking, check out the Sioux Bulletin online or call the company and ask someone to keep an eye out for you. I have a two bedroom ...

I know that banning cells on aircraft and by gas pumps is largely claptrap... I think the gas station concern is valid. I know an owner of a Shell station who told me they got an internal memo about a guy who set his car on fire when his cell rang (it was sitting on the trunk, over the gas cap, whi...

Maybe some of the toilets in airliners should have fold down or removable seats with hidden/retractable/detachable belts. Wouldn't cost much.

Or give her a clipboard and TC hat then strap her in the jumpseat.

They're are pressurized. Lots of room inside for the crew (I think the book said it's wider than a King Air 90 inside) but it's horribly low when you're lifting a stretcher up the stairs.

Buy a JP Fleets cd, find a company that operates planes you can already fly in a place you want to go and call them. If you already have a experience or PPC from your current or previous job for one of their types it makes you an attractive applicant. It's a good way to see the world. Just make sure...
