C-FLHI MIA?

The mystery continues... One of the two Flair tails that went to Australia in late 2023 has been parked at MCY, (Sunshine Coast airport), since the morning of March 1st. Whereas all previous flights were operated under Bonza's AB flight designator, C-FLHI's last sector from Gold Coast. (OOL), operat...

The spectacular delusion continues at Canada Jetlines. Whatever Eddie and Co. are smoking, it's primo stuff. https://www.ch-aviation.com/news/138682-canada-jetlines-exploring-us-stock-exchange-listing Lest anyone forget, here are Jetline's 4Q 2023 and FY 2023 numbers: https://finance.yahoo.com/news/...

Cdn operational data is compiled from FR24. WJA historical data is widely available on line via quarterly, annual and AIF forms. US industry data is via the MIT Airline Data Project. Southwest data is from their 2023 Annual Report. Porter's importation cost for their E2 C-GZQF on 4 Oct 2023, (Emb In...

Re: Transat or Porter?

Porter generated 7hrs and 41 mins airtime per tail per day with an ASL of 1,184 miles on a peak Thursday April 4th coming out of Easter Break weekend. Come Monday April 8th, things, (loads and therefore yields), slow down until a little bump for May l/w and then again around June 20 as summer kicks ...

Re: Transat or Porter?

Wow. Still dragging up ancient news from 20 years ago? Someone had to take the hit. That's how it works. And don't forget the 3 other very successful start ups since, currently operating a total of 432 tails in North America, with nice flight benefits on all 4. And guess what: other than the c...

Re: The end of Flair?

When an airline has a record amount of capacity in the market thereby incurring record daily costs, they better be having record sales days every day to to cover the increased costs. News flash folks: The latter half of March and first week of April, (depending on the Easter l/w timing), is no diffe...

Re: Transat or Porter?

Porter's E2 utilization, and therefore operating economics, remain anemic. On Weds 27 March, Porter managed an average of just 6 hrs 31 mins airtime and 2.3 sectors a day out their 30 tail fleet, with an ASL of 1,274 miles, just 7% shorter than Flair's asl, who got 11hrs 48 mins out their Boeing fle...

Flair operated 371 sectors the week of Feb 4th with an asl of 1,412 miles. They operated 530 sectors the week of Mar 17th with an asl of 1,378 miles. What’s gonna happen the week of April 7th when the March break / Easter travel bump ends? Flair's enjoying the best 4 weeks they'll see till about Jun...

Re: Flair Suspending Growth Plans amid Delivery Delays and Debt

It could indeed be Amelia, a system designed and used by various very small operators. https://intelisysaviation.com/our-airline-partners/ Most serious airlines stick with Navitaire or Radixx. Regardless, the system is down and has apparently been down for almost 40 hours. Having your revenue portal...

Re: Flair Suspending Growth Plans amid Delivery Delays and Debt

My error. It looked like Flair's site was up as of 7:30 am Sunday morning. https://www.sabre.com/radixx/ Whatever is going on, this issue is isolated to Flair. My observation was based on flight options being generated by the system, which is more than was possible in the previous 24 hours. I have n...

Re: Flair Suspending Growth Plans amid Delivery Delays and Debt

It would appear Flair has the ability to take bookings again as of about 7:30 pm PDT. Raddix was functioning perfectly yesterday at a US airline I'm very familiar with in the US. What ever the issue was, it was entirely at Flair's end. Flair's OTP was about 45% yesterday, but other than a 13hr + del...

Re: Losing another tail?

Flair missed payroll today, with, as usual, SJ blaming it on a "glitch" at ADP. Naturally, the "glitch" at ADP, who do payroll for hundreds if not thousands of companies, only impacted Flair, which would suggest that the glitch was more of a "we ain't issuing payroll cheques 'till you fund the payro...

Re: Any plans for Socialized bidding?

Gotta love the 20/20 hindsight. No one had any knowledge of the real estate play, (turning a $50m terminal development into a $700m+ sale lease back windfall), the proceeds of which have been underpinning Porter for years. Without that move, which was very clever, the Porter story would be very diff...

Re: Flair in hot water with the CRA

It's for the importation of aircraft.

Regardless, taxes are owed on those aircraft and if they aren't paid, things will start disappearing.

One learns very quickly that owing back taxes in both Canada and the US quickly becomes a very expensive proposition.

Re: Any plans for Socialized bidding?

Porter paid about us$29m per E2 + escalators that took the October deliveries up to $30.6m. That number is slightly higher than what Azul paid for their E2’s and works out to about us$232k a seat, well within the range for narrow body twin jets these days. There’s a wonderful rumor out there that so...

Re: Flair in hot water with the CRA

Lynx owed the CRA about 38.2% of what Flair owes the CRA. Note Lynx’s repayment terms below, negotiated in Nov 2023, the same time Flair negotiated its repayment deal. It’s one thing to be current with the roughly $1.3m the CRA wanted paid from Dec through the end of March, averaging $327k a month. ...

Some folks have been involved in a couple of startups that have gone public long since WJ's glory days nearly 20 years ago. Some are even involved in current new entrants ar...
