Re: Avro Arrow blueprints on display after sitting in Sask. man's home for decades

It would be great, but probably easier to design a better aircraft from scratch given the 65 years of advances in metallurgy and composites, aerodynamics, aircraft systems, and manufacturing processes. And considering a modern fighter is nearly breaking the worlds best funded military, I don’t thin...

We're so hard done by today... Having perspective is good, but using it is better. I received what is written below from a friend. I do not know who wrote it, but I think it makes an excellent point relative to what is occurring now. We probably all think that it’s a mess out there now. Hard to disc...

I once thought that the mothballed CF-5s would have made an excellent Tutor replacement for the Snowbirds but then it's been a couple of decades since then...

Re: Corona Virus

People need to put political stances aside and work together. This should be the case in EVERY situation, on EVERY topic, ALWAYS. Unfortunately modern humans are so focussed on our differences and individualism that the idea that we're all in this together gets lost in the divisive sensationalism o...

I heard on the news today someone found the propeller in their backyard.
If, in saying backyard you meant field, then yes.

The US is about to replace the two Air Force Ones... why don't we just buy those with our apparently unlimited tax-payer pockets?

Wouldn’t it be easier to just throw the q400 avionics package in the 300 classic dash?
Except that the -300 is now the property of Viking Air in BC, no?

The nerve of the couple to sue the airline and win, then say that they’ll continue flying with them. If I was Air Canada I'd be saying "Bienvenue sur la liste d'interdiction de vol“.

Assholes.

Re: Air Canada has to pay $15,000 to a couple because the word 'lift' was not engraved on seatbelts in French

From their quotes in the article, it appears that the couple speaks pretty fluent English... hard to see how they were put out by the lack of bilingualism on the seatbelt latches. If it truly was an issue for them, they'd still be belted in their seats with no idea how to get out.

I rode one of my motorcycles to the gas station yesterday and was almost hit twice by inept drivers. The gas station is three blocks from my house, by the way.

I would have felt considerably safer in an airplane.

Some American carriers have removed the Max from their skeds until January. AC is not anticipating them to come back before the new year either.
I'm booked on WestJet in August and one of my legs has me listed on, gasp, a MAX.
