Forget what the naysayers are saying Tail Timer. Just make sure you do some research and have a few good leads, (At the very least get in contact with the CP/OpsMan/Owner/Somebody!) before you skip across the pond. Find at least 3-5 companies so you have some choices. I did exactly that, went across...

Re: Expat South Africa
Before I headed to South Africa I got in touch with several companies. Executive Turbine, Solenta, Air Aquarius, and Fugro. I rented a car in Joberg, drove to Lansaria and I met with three and they all said if I had 300hr Turbine in my logbook I would have been ok, and possibly could have gone the n...

No worries, I interviewed Feb 5th, 2013. There were three of us in that day, a guy from Evas, a nice gal from a Caravan operator overseas, and myself. I had similar experience to her, but I had about 500hrs extra Multi then she did, a mix of FO and PIC.

A gal that interviewed the sameday as myself had 2200TT with nothing but a Multi-IFR and a bunch of Overseas Caravan time....I wasn't to far off from that myself, but I was the only one offered a job 6 weeks later.

I just went through that scenario in the Sim, if was a full aft trim scenario, I played dumb to the sim trainer cause I could feel the wheel moving on my knee also of course the Pitch MisTrim ANN was on. However I followed the checklist (which is retarded) and gripped the controls and with all my my...

Re: Making a great Salary now, should I move?
To the author of this thread: There's a term that has recently been popping up lately. "Comfortably complacent" I know a guy, that knows a guy, that knows a guy.....that was in your predicament. However he recently took a an airline gig at a 50% reduction to his present wage. Why did he do it? It w...

I was in Miami twice in the last couple weeks and noticed at the AAR hangar there were two 767s. I read they do heavy maintenance, mods and such. Any chance that is where they are doing the paint, seats for rouge?

Mid 30s myself. However at my company if you leave, its not that the door is closed.....its just that nobody ever leaves. Well, excect myself possibly. Thank you everyone for the replies. Happy to know I share the same thoughts as many of you. Sounds like you would rather bring home the big dough than work in Canada. Still living in Canada. Making a great Salary now, should I move?
I have always been keen to get on at AC. However, currently making 100K+ a year working 4 days a week. Its not bad at all. I like where I live, however a position at Air Canada I could commute quite comfortably. Travel internationally a bit more like I used to when I was young. Do I want to take tha...
