We aren't entitled to cheap resources just like we're not entitled to cheap defense. If we want those we need to build our own military to get it.Eric Janson wrote: ↑Fri May 29, 2026 8:39 am Just filled up my car - C$ 3.75/Litre!

Re: Sunwing B737 Captain fired for ordering fried chicken
You will get haters in your life. People will try to get you fired for the sole reason of being jealous you're more successful. They'll report you to Transport Canada, they'll report you to your employer, they'll write you up, they'll play the racism card. I've had all happen to me. I love it becaus...

I'd also prefer that union staff not take alcohol or other intoxicating substances during union activities, meetings, or events.

Honestly 10 years at Emirates while we wait to see if we ever get a decent contract again seems like a pretty good strategy. Do your hard time while you're young, come back rich, and coast through the rest of your career at AC.

Re: Jet stream down
10 seconds of descending before impact is a long time for no one to take corrective action by increasing pitch. The gear not fully retracting isn't critical when you are in such a high area of vulnerability. The PM calls the malfunction and immediately goes back to monitoring the climb. The PF says ...

Re: Porter slides off the taxiway in YHM
Would you hit the reversers? You wouldn't use reverse thrust on a jet to get back onto the taxiway, but definitely opening the reversers if you're starting to slide can help a lot. There's a lot of residual thrust at idle in newer high bypass engines. I had an experience in YEG a few years back wit...

Alcohol use should be banned from all union staff meetings, activities, and gatherings. If you want to get wasted do it on your own time not while discussing union matters. I'm disappointed if that is what is currently going on. No hockey games, or any social activities with management either. These...

Re: The FAA Plans To Enforce Merit-Based Hiring Standards
1) Only White males are good enough to he pilots, or It's not about race or sex. That's actually the whole problem people have with DEI. It's about picking the best candidates for the job without race or gender changing the decision to someone "good enough". Hire the best person for the job. It's j...

Re: The FAA Plans To Enforce Merit-Based Hiring Standards
The whole concept of DEI was created by an HR industry that is highly misandrist. The way males have been treated by society for the last few decades has swung way beyond equality and into retribution.
