Re: Air Canada Pool
Did anyone else have any technical issues filling out the pre screening questionnaire? I did. I answered "no" to the "licence suspension, violation, and accidents" questions but was still prompted to fill out the "if yes to the above questions please explain" box. Yes! I had the same problem. Thanks.

Re: CARs, Standards missing from the Justice Laws Website.
From http://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/civilaviation/r ... s/menu.htm (my emphasis) - where you will also find the standards. Take a look under Part VI - General Operating and Flight Rules. There has to be more than what is currently listed. I'm having a hard time finding a standard under IFR Flight Operatio...

I can't seem to find the associated Standards to certain CARs.

Re: Violating Canadian laws and regulations galore - Who car
I cringe because those aren't Canadians behind the yoke. Why do I have to compete for a Canadian job against someone from a country my family and I left in 1989?

Shimmydampner I didn't mean to insult the way of life in Northern Canada. I'd just like express some caution to those who may have some pipe dream about what it's all about. By accepting the working conditions at such a place you could end up with the possibility of having nothing to show for all yo...

I can't help but cringe when I hear foreign Sunwing pilots screwing up radio calls. It seems like ATC doesn't have much patience with them either.

Re: North Wright Air
I turned down an offer from them years ago when I had approximately 500 hours. The cp had the nerve to get upset with me over the phone for declining the position. I instead worked for a 703 operator in Northern Ontario that did pay relatively well. I was able to pay off two thirds of my debt before...

I don't think you understand the point of the college.Sadly, the College of pilot is not interested in doing jack shit for wage equality.
Do yourself a favor and do some research.

I find this change rather irritating. It seems the new website doesn't have the greatest index for searching through the CARs.
Thanks for the upload.

Re: Porter and the CSeries
Don't see how this is possible at YTZ. The Landing Distance req'd at MLW is quoted at 4400'. Add to that the 60% factor and you're looking at 7333'. Throw some rain on there and you're now looking at 8433' to be legal to dispatch to the island. This is a publicity stunt. Or, they have no intention ...

Guys, quit getting your panties in knots. Alberta Skydivers is under new ownership since the string of accidents a few years ago. I worked for Ian in 2007. It was a great first aviation gig. Alberta Skydivers has a contract with the British Military. Through out the summer they get a continuous flow...

Re: "FTU'isms"
Planes are built to fly. If your captain is incapcitated, take it for a circuit. I have to agree with CAT Driver. What I think is dangerours is getting into the habit of doing weak rejected takeoffs for minor issues. Because one day you'll be close to V1 on a short runway in a heavy plane, and if yo...

I think the point here is, if you are afraid to fly a light trainer without an airspeed indicator you probably shouldn't be flying at all.

Re: I guess we are not alone
Another problem is the low training standard accepted amognst ourselves. It'd be nice to see training in general made more difficult.
I am talking here about type specific training. However, most people believe they have a god given right to work for X company once hired.

Re: Encore WACON released and surprise, it sucks
You know what I think is retarded. How a 12 year 767 FO can pull in over 200k a year, and at the same time a first year AC FO slotted into Rouge is making approximately 40k flying the SAME equipment and a tougher sched! Don't give me that experience crap. The only reason why you have 12 years exper...

Re: Encore WACON released and surprise, it sucks
Some questions for the Westjetters - Why is Encore being sold to prospective pilots as a startup? Isn't the Westjet brand well established by now? Why should pilots starting at Encore accept this as a justification for low starting wages? Why not call it what it is, a new aircraft type in the fleet...
