From my experience as a maintenance provider having worked on many Piper twin products in the past, I would say they were leaned out for max fuel economy, just above the "lean" marking, but not at Idle cut off, both in the exact same configuration. The blades on the RH engine were significantly bent backwards, banana shape consistent with engine developing power, the LH blades only exhibited tip curl, rotating, but no power.

wow just saw picture on news of twisted crankshaft- and oh yah, no oil all over the place- obviously engine suddenly stopped rotating while the prop wanted to keep on going- so it did.

Its a real catch 22 situation- in the real world private owners wouldn't dream of all the life overhaul schedules in the manual- 800 hr OH on a 985- get real. Operators by law need to have access to current manuals, and overhaul components time should be approved on their own maintenace schedule app...

Yes anyone can own an aircraft and have an original manual for it, but if it is a Cessna manual you have, you can bet that the manufacture has a more current manual available, infact they send out a revision status list of all their publications on a regular basis.
