Re: Successful Career Changers?
Started my first flying job at 35. The pay was poor at first, but my wife is a very understanding woman who supported me all the way. My two kids were 13 and 7 at the time. Never had any regrets. I'm 50 now and still married to the same woman. Best of luck.

Re: Best Headset for a Twin Otter
I have the Bose A20 headset. I feel that its well worth the $1271.00. A friend of my also had the David Clark noise cancelling headset and it wasn't long after that he sold it. He now has the same Bose headset that I have and he said the difference was like night and day. In case your woundering, we...

Re: Air Cadet Program = Hitler Youth?
I was in Air Cadets for about 5 years and no offense the program is good for some but it sucked where I was and will never be a civilian instructor or become involved with it ever again. It wasn't the experience i was expecting when my sister's friend told me about it. I think where I was it very p...

Re: Air Cadet Program = Hitler Youth?
Well I'm stuck for words. Comparing cadets to Hitler youth. Both my kids have gone through the Air Cadet program and I honestly feel that what they learned in cadets helped make them such wounderful adults that they are today. I've been a civilian instructor for the last 9 years and I enjoy every mi...

Re: Military (non-pilot) thinking of a Flying Career
Well, you got alot of thinking to do. I spent 5 years in the navy and 8 years for DND as an industrial electrician. The base where I live closed down and I was left out in the cold. I was 34 years old when I started work on my pilot licence and my kids were 13 and 8 years old. Times were tough money ...

As a kid, I used to watch the Vulcans training in YYR. They never fail to impress me.

Canadian Global Air Ambulance
I've heard of alot of bad things about this company when it comes to safety. They were shut down for a little while and are now back in the air. Have things improved? I'm thinking of moving to Toronto and this kind of work, I think, is something I would like. So, any info about this operation would ...
