The guy who had bought the plane was a well known experienced guy here at my local GA airfield.

Re: Plane Crash near Nelson Bc ( CZNL )
We have such a great SAR "community" around here - very lucky in that respect. I know Vic wouldnt push the limits, but if he could lend a hand he would. If anyone is interested, here's a link to a photo of Nelson, looking west at 4pm today. http://s969.photobucket.com/albums/ae172/happy_flyer/?actio...

Re: Plane Crash near Nelson Bc ( CZNL )
Can someone PM me and let me know who it was ? I know a few of the guys but a little out of touch on the scene lately. Glad to hear he got out ok. Surprised anyone was in the area in a light aircraft today - not a good week to be in and out of Nelson...

Oh dear - I think this same family ( who run the Outfitters ) lost a member this time last year in a fixed wing accident on a similar trip. Close friend of mine is related - much pain all round of course. Condolences...

Military in YYC Tuesday ..
Came thorugh YYC on Tuesday, saw a bunch of fighters on the ramp at Shell and what looked like a Tornado ( brief glance through the a passenger window of a Dash-8 ) doing circuits. What goes on there ?

Re: British Citizen Working in Canada
Get a student visa to do your flight training...the flight school will need to write a letter stating how long the "course" is. Make sure they specify at least a year. You are then entitled to a work visa for the same amount of time that you were at school for ie. one year. I think you may be restri...

Re: flyglobespan.com
I have flown Thomas Cook, Zoom and Globespan....Thomas Cook were the best without a doubt ( I have used them 6 times now ). Zoom are excellent too, but the service on TC was just a little better. If you are going out of YVR, then it's an airbus 330 - 31-32" pitch in economy, and I think it was 35 or...

Re: Quality of Life in Canada better than U.K? or not?!
I would agree...if flying is what you're wanting and going to be doing, stay in the UK. You''ll be flying bigger things sooner.

I came here 8 years ago for some mountain flying experience and never left. I still believe the grass is greener here, although like anywhere, over time it sseems like it's turning slightly brown. Temporarily out of aviation having fallen back on my pre-aviation career for financial reasons, I find ...

8 years ago I left behind my country and cubicle job to fly in Canada. Financially, it bled me dry and I had to go back to a very much nicer cubicle ( I have a window ), but still a cubicle. I have been in this cubicle for 4 years. It pays well, I travel around North America, I have responsibility f...

Indeed the loss of life is especially sad. I certainly never meant to imply that it wasn't. I admire these individuals and organisations that put heart, soul and savings into keeping warbirds in the air for those of us too young to have been around in that era, to appreciate them and allow us to hav...

The safest place to check ( for the poison issue ) is the MenuFoods website - they have a complete list of all products. http://www.menufoods.com/recall/product_cat.html They update it as more news becomes available, but I don't think Purina is on there. The Vet supplied food that was causing a prob...

If you check out this company - http://www.naturapet.com On the home page, in the left coulmn there is a list of the brands they supply, and there is some good information about the ingredients and quality.
