Ummm...MichaelP...

There's a reason Americans feel they invented aviation. They did!!! (Well, controlled powered flight anyway!)

Once again I agree with "rsandor". Perfect explanation of photo radar in Canada and why it works in Europe but was just a fund-raiser here.

theiceman, Nope, the Habs weren't sent to play the Soviets. Central Red Army (and Soviet Wings) came to North America and played a series of NHL teams in '75-'76. Red Army's games against the Habs and Flyers are the most memorable. Get the facts!! The other kind, Succinct and to the point--I like it...

Uhh, sorry... when were the Habs sent to play the Soviets? I agree that the respective team accomplishments make it difficult for a Leafs fan to insult a Habs fan!

"rsandor" has it right.

Until you've done some track days in your regular car, you don't know jack about the dynamics of driving. Three days at a track and you really will be an "above average driver", not just someone who, like most Canadians, thinks they are.

This makes me laugh.

Just because somebody decides to make a "career" out of some job, doesn't mean they "deserve" a high enough wage to raise a family.

When I report for my next fry shift at McD.'s I'll be sure to tell them I DESERVE a big raise. Won't anybody think of the children!!

Ah yes, the "Brazilian switch".

Was supposed to have a thin "witness" wire on it, but was actually secured with the very thickest lockwire maintenance could find!

Not repeated on any other Embraer aircraft, surprisingly.

Yes, I agree; too expensive for Air Canada to operate.

I can guarantee you that you will never see another 747 in Air Canada colours. That's not necessarily a bad thing either. Too expensive to operate.
Then why do some of the world's most financially successful airlines operate them?

Hey Dockjock,

Just to make you feel worse, RP's for a certain Asian carrier make the equivalent of CAD$200,000 Gross pay (ie. compensating for the higher income taxes in Canada)!!

I agree with what Rockie and Lost in Saigon posted. We're all underpaid in Canada.
