Re: Crash @ North Spirit Lake Ont (4 dead, 1 survivor)

BverLuver. The point I had was not directed to Cliff, or in the support of Cliff. "Yes" The deaths of January 10, 2012 may well have been preventable, But the authorized 703 prescription for Single Pilot IFR was my focus. Operation of Single Pilot IFR without CP or OPS MGR supervision, or a second p...

Re: Crash @ North Spirit Lake Ont (4 dead, 1 survivor)

Keystone has evolved over almost 30 years as a per CARS, the post CARS operation. 1996 The new CARs permitted single pilot descents to CAP limits. Prior to 1996 CAP limit approaches required two qualified pilots. The was before CRM became effective. The results however produced a mentorship culture ...

QUOTED
Sadly nothing new here. I remember the Dubin report back in the '80s -- I actually have a copy somewhere.
TC and the operators do not learn from history --and repeat it.

Reports, Reports, Reports to the Regulators
Dubin, Dryden(100), SATOPS(703), Sandy Lake(748), Tayfel(31), North Spirit(31)

QUOTED With the amount of time and effort that has gone into this thread already with 5 pages so far, someone could have constructed a well written, sensible and emotionally controlled letter to a editor of one of the major news companies outlining the major problems faced in general aviation today....

Re: Wasaya Union Professionalism vs Wasaya Layoffs

Cat Driver ; I think witness keystone was trying to say is "granny gas safety" is incompatible with pilot unionization. The theft issue is derailing this forum. I am saying a pilot union and northern routes are incompatable for longevity of future employment, and the posiblity of company profit. I a...

Re: Wasaya Union Professionalism vs Wasaya Layoffs

Let us return the forum to avoiding Wasaya Layoffs due to Pilot Unionization not Pilot Dismissal for Theft Low level (3500AGL) could be interpreted as theft, and when and if those pilots protesting by flying low level were sacked for "Theft". Im certain those pilots could sue for wrongful dismissal,...

Re: Wasaya Union Professionalism vs Wasaya Layoffs

The Wasaya Pilots Union is going to create the same layoffs Bearskin, and Austin were forced to concede with. I remember back then. I know what 2009 Qualty Assurance programs can do outside aviation, and support behind a Wasaya QA will make much better working conditions than any Union will orcould ...

Wasaya Union Professionalism vs Wasaya Layoffs

Witness Keystone; Thank you; I figured this would have come up sooner than this. This Savings Management Style ($M$) needs to be addressed in all current 705, and 704 Quality Assurance Programs. KEE208 was, and now you say is again free of TC SMS requirements. I am too old to know much about how Uni...

Re: Police cars at Fast Air

I ask this question in a general sense, and not as it pertains to Fast Air specifically, but what is the benefit (legal or otherwise) of an operator voluntarily surrendering it's OC? Is it purely to save face? If you surrender your OC, you can get it back as soon as the difficiencies are addressed ...

Re: Police cars at Fast Air

You are welcome skypilot1956, the important part that you should be concerned with though is that you understand how they work, because they sure have not had a very good track record of fair oversight for quite a number of years We still have interest in a manitoba 703 operation, and a manitoba AM...

Re: Police cars at Fast Air

I heard TC current m & m manager was recently brought back into an enforcement portfolio for maybe obvious reasons that have been discussed here. Police are recruited to expidite th...

Sterile Cockpits threatened

Ground control transmissions are rebroadcasted on tower frequencies when controllers are on coofee breaks. This practice means the cockpit is filled with non essental transmissions for the aircraft on the roll, or on short final. I am an old fart, but i still need the sterile cockpit to focus for an...
