Re: Update on other ALPA negotiations? Porter, PAL, Canadian North
Based on the communications from both the MEC and Negots team, probably in 2028. Seems that they want to drag out everything as long as possible.

I wear a set of arm sleeves which are UFP 50+ rated (Plus great for late night flying if your chilly), and a high quality face sunscreen.

Re: Flair Pilots Better Starting & Top End Pay Now?!
Just a reminder that in the year 2026, a brand-new FO at a Canadian ULCC can look at a legacy carrier pay table and say: "Wait... I make MORE than that guy?" 🤔 Somewhere, a freshly minted Flair pilot is explaining to an Air Canada pilot how pay progression works. What a time to be alive. Serious qu...

Re: ATPL workarounds?
For the love of gawd do not go try to spend 10K+ to get a PIC PPC on a 705 machine for the sake of getting the ATPL to MAYBE get over to AC quicker. You will find numerous posts all over this site about buying a PPC. Go fly a BE-02, PA-31 or something to get meet the requirements, it looks way bette...

Re: Speed Got Too Low
Another issue here that I see all the time is that one is climbing long at 290 kts, pull the speed back immediately to 250 which the plane does and expedites until 250. Except 2000' later it planes out and does a normal climb rate, thus ending in the same result.

This is all pretty vague, are you trying to get a PPC in an attempt to get a job at Jazz or Porter?

Kewl. Glad you can make it home. Maybe don’t worry so much about profitability of your competitors. Unless you’re like a super duper aviation accountant with balance sheets for all airlines In the country. Sit down, STFU and enjoy your commute home. Ah, I miss that weird duck. Re: Anyone else seated in the hiring pool, chilling?😛
It was also because we took massive delays trying to groom a 132 seat aircraft. I think the going thought was finish the setup, once that's complete, assist. Setup starting taking longer and longer. Then cabin crew got pretty hot and bothered. Is it written somewhere that on the Dash side, the flig...

Re: E2 Loads
Rouge and AC are different AOCs, they have displacement rights back and forth. I'm not buying that argument. That's a negotiated agreement. Porter does not have a negotiated contract, and even if it did, recent events show that they would ignore it if it didn't suit them. Umm, dude Rouge and AC are...

FO here — anyone else a bit concerned about the passenger loads on the E2? YYZ–LGA has been pretty weak. Whenever I operate the loads are fine. Yes LGA, YOW, and YUL are lower and always have been but the flights west and south are 90% packed. As mentioned we are in the post holiday travel now whic...

Since the other thread went down a black hole of absolute useless crap, what’s coming out from the MEC?

Re: For folks around my age (Late 30s)
I’ve only applied to AC once in my career and politely declined when called. Is AC stable, sure but in 5,10,15 years we don’t know where any company will be. This is poor decision making. Why, because finically at my age it makes no sense or the fact I don't want a crappy schedule for my family for...

Re: Commuting from YYC to YYZ
Many pilots who are not YYC or YHZ commuters end up with these pairings. When they were agreeing to the process and it was designed and agreed upon with the FOAG it was a hastly put together agreement where the company was told by many pilots issues would arrive. Sure enough many pilots (myself incl...

Re: Misc Questions
1) the most junior FO in YVR was hired in March. However, I believe there is room at the base if you’d like to transfer early. Good question to ask during an interview. You might be stuck on reserve for a while tho. 2) commute is doable but can be strenuous 3) in terms of pairings… for September, s...

Re: Commuting from YYC to YYZ
The Satellite pairings are a flop. I’m not a YYC commuter and have a YYC satellite pairing at the end of the month (guess who’s not doing that). Many YYZ non-commuters have been awarded these pairings which are creating chaos. Until a proper process is established for this I wouldn’t count on it. A...
