Re: Anyone else seated in the hiring pool, chilling?😛
It was also because we took massive delays trying to groom a 132 seat aircraft. I think the going thought was finish the setup, once that's complete, assist. Setup starting taking longer and longer. Then cabin crew got pretty hot and bothered. Is it written somewhere that on the Dash side, the flig...

Re: AvCanada 6/6/6
Online for 6 minutes every 6 hours on the 6th day of every week? Seriously though, what's going on? Yep, wondering the same thing, it’s getting very frustrating! I come on, read a post, go to reply and can’t connect to the server, multiple times per day. I’m really close to just giving up and waiti...

Re: E2 Loads
Rouge and AC are different AOCs, they have displacement rights back and forth. I'm not buying that argument. That's a negotiated agreement. Porter does not have a negotiated contract, and even if it did, recent events show that they would ignore it if it didn't suit them. Umm, dude Rouge and AC are...

Re: E2 Loads
FO here — anyone else a bit concerned about the passenger loads on the E2? YYZ–LGA has been pretty weak. Whenever I operate the loads are fine. Yes LGA, YOW, and YUL are lower and always have been but the flights west and south are 90% packed. As mentioned we are in the post holiday travel now whic...

The TA
Since the other thread went down a black hole of absolute useless crap, what’s coming out from the MEC?
Is it as good as it looks at first glance from the summary?

Re: For folks around my age (Late 30s)
I’ve only applied to AC once in my career and politely declined when called. Is AC stable, sure but in 5,10,15 years we don’t know where any company will be. This is poor decision making. Why, because finically at my age it makes no sense or the fact I don't want a crappy schedule for my family for...

I agree with Co-Joe. I’ve only applied to AC once in my career and politely declined when called. Is AC stable, sure but in 5,10,15 years we don’t know where any company will be. Go with what makes you happy, and works for the family. Yes at Porter our schedules are tough, but should get better afte...

Re: Commuting from YYC to YYZ
Many pilots who are not YYC or YHZ commuters end up with these pairings. When they were agreeing to the process and it was designed and agreed upon with the FOAG it was a hastly put together agreement where the company was told by many pilots issues would arrive. Sure enough many pilots (myself incl...

Re: Misc Questions
1) the most junior FO in YVR was hired in March. However, I believe there is room at the base if you’d like to transfer early. Good question to ask during an interview. You might be stuck on reserve for a while tho. 2) commute is doable but can be strenuous 3) in terms of pairings… for September, s...

Re: Commuting from YYC to YYZ
The Satellite pairings are a flop. I’m not a YYC commuter and have a YYC satellite pairing at the end of the month (guess who’s not doing that). Many YYZ non-commuters have been awarded these pairings which are creating chaos. Until a proper process is established for this I wouldn’t count on it. A...

Re: E2 interview wait time?
Time could be abit. We are hiring tons of folks and the recruitment team is quite swamped. As for total time, it does vary and depends on experience. What I can say is that I have not had an FO below 2000hrs and have a current lad who was a corporate captain for the past 20 years (I might be spoile...

Re: Reserve time?
Lad I am currently flying the E2 with says he sat 4 months on RSV before getting his first block here in June.
YTZ FO is very heavy on FOs, so yes the RSV timeline would be higher due to that.

You don't think they are proud of a contract with no vacation till year 4, training outside of scheduled blocks and a paragraph that basically allows the company to do whatever they want? Ahhhhhh, it just like here at Porter. Company does what they want because the FOAG is flexible

Sry how’s this on the Union? Company informed them that layoffs and base closure are occurring. Union informed pilot group with as much advanced notice as possible. That’s Fact and is occurring. If they waited for company email and town hall than you would sit here complaining you didn’t get enough ...

Just wait until you hear why they’re doing this… Go on …. if you're on the town hall, you're hearing about it right now. So what’s the word? Hopefully all you lads will be ok. While everyone bashes Flair (myself included), no one wants to see there fellow colleagues get laid off.
