Re: Sunwing help wanted ad on Quebec Online Placement
I think they have year round flights out of Quebec now. They operated during the past summer in Quebec City. Business must be good.

Re: Sunwing/Canjet fleet and foreign pilots, Winter 2013-201
Doesn't Canjet use foreign pilots? I just heard Air Transat is trying to get TravelService pilots for next winter. Is any of this true?

Re: Sunwing Adds a New Twist on Foreign Pilots
Looks like a good way for someone to get a 737NG type rating and maybe 500 hours. Could find a contract job after that.

Re: CARGO JET LAYOFFS
So who did they lay off now? Was it pilots, or office staff? Heard it is getting pretty thin in the office. Must be coming up on quarterly reporting time. Only way to post a profit for them these days seems to be lay some people off.
At least pilots will be able to find jobs.

Re: Vacation and Stat Holidays for Pilots
They are on days off on the stat holiday. Once the company gives you 9 stat days to be used when you want, you have to use a day off to actually get the stat holiday free from flying. You get your 2 weeks, and 9 stat days. Then you get X amount of days off each month. So, if you put your vacation an...

Re: Vacation and Stat Holidays for Pilots
You are entitled to 2 weeks holidays, 3 weeks after 6 years, in addition to 9 days for stat holidays. Cargojet didn't pay their pilots stat holidays for a time. A pilot used the " open door " policy they had to bring up the issue. He was threatened with his job, and the " open door " policy became k...

Re: Cargojet buys majority stake in Prince Edward Air
I hear the KFC DC 10 is for a DND contract to run supplies to Afghanistan. Canada has extended this mission. Lapointe already has a pilot training contract with DND. So, he knows how to negotiate a contract with them. I don't think the DC 10 is to compete with Cargojets 767's.

Red eye flights can lead to cancer
They did this study using nurses and airline crews. Won't be bidding for any red eyes.

Is Zoom getting more 757's in addition to the one they already have? If so, why the change from 767 to 757? Are 767's getting harder to find?

Dude....why so sensitve? Relax. You say guys are happy, then they are happy. Good to hear that someone likes working there. I know quite a few Cargojet pilots. They are not happy guys. They say that they have been given 2 more days off a month. But apparently their pilot guidebook stated that after 5 years of service, they could receive 4 weeks of vacation. Without even consulting with the pilots, this was quietly delete...
