Re: KBA Antarctic pay?
Antarctica is nothing like the Arctic or any northern work. It's summer down there so you get 24 hrs daylight and plenty of mild weather (excepting inland high altitude places like South Pole, Dome C, Vostok etc). Adventure and saying "I've been there" were not the reasons I went. I went once @ the ...

Re: KBA Antarctic pay?
Don't listen to the "there's not enough money in the world to go to Antarctica and freeze my balls off" crowd. I've done three "seasons" down there and never for a minute regretted it. Some of the best memories and experiences of my life were in Antarctica with KBA. It's not for everyone, but if you...

SPAMMING JOB ADS
Who would like the Site Admin to limit the number of repeat job ads? Seeing the same job ads posted every couple of days is limiting the exposure the more sensible single postings get.

I found that I used much more 1/2" than 1/4", but I did use the stuff to make travel kits where you don't want tools moving around.

All the above solutions will work, but if you want the best stuff that is designed exclusively for tool control check this out: http://www.toolfoam.com/ I have made a couple travel kits with this stuff. It's phenomenal. It cuts easy and laminates together with a heat gun. If you want more info or ti...

Re: AME apprenticeship questions
In addition to what Pie said, there is an AME program at Stevenson College in Southport MB that is along the lines of a traditional trade apprenticeship where you get a job and then go to school 9 weeks a year while completing your 48 months.

Re: Navajo Chieftain Hydraulic System Check
You mean "time limits" in regards to how long it takes for it to pop back up after pressing it down? If it doesn't pop back up you likely have a worn out pump on whatever engine you are testing at the time....it's not building enough pressure.

That's it, there's just a handful of AME's out there and they all come here. Accordingly, you should be able to go out to real people in this business and find the opinion overwhelmingly the opposite..... Give me a f$#@ing break. Take Note: Happy people don't go around looking for an outlet to express their happiness. Unhappy people will tell anyone who is willing to listen about what makes them unhappy. This forum tends to be an outlet for unhappy people. This industry could definitely use some improvement and one could lik...

Re: A&P License at American Airman
Was there in December. The system American Airman uses to get you through the written exams works very well. Make sure you know the study material they give you before the oral/practical. Your practical is all on little stuff, like R44's, so know your way around small aircraft. Don't argue with the ...

Everyone is talking about the legality of it and car seats etc while no one has asked "Are you an experienced Pilot?" I would be more concerned with the real safety of the situation as opposed to the paper safety.

Re: Nose gear turning arc
King Airs do not have an internal stop inside their nose gear to prevent the oleo from coming apart: if your ramp / towing area is bumpy, I do not recommend disconnecting the torque links - they are what hold the gear together. If you hit a bump and your oleo overextends, it's a very expensive touc...

I like my celery in a gin caesar; spicy and with a pickle, too. Or sliced thinly with blue cheese dip. Celery is also a good thing to eat a lot of if you are in the porn industry and/or just plain looking for a fantastic money shot.
