Re: US Air Travel Down, Overall Air Travel Up.

As I alluded to above, if you want to blame Boomers for your troubles, we are in the PRIME BOOMER TO MILLENIAL WEALTH TRANSFER INDUSTRY. Either boomers are unreasonable people who hoard wealth and go on vacations and cruises instead of giving it to their kids, putting us in a great position, or boom...

Re: First in Canada 100% deadhead pay Will other alpa pilots follow?

Possibly 1 case in future 5-10 years of crews pushing to an accident/incident because of this incentive, vs probably thousands of cases until then when a FCM/FA decides to make a few bills for flying 15 minutes into unforeseen instead of pulling the plug on the whole aircraft down in Cuba. The cost ...

Re: Some flights unavailable on myidtravel

Because WS didn't want to "run the risk of FULLY taking on the route network", the ex-swg flights are all still "charters" and thus can't be booked. Only way is for employees to book on WJ code flights and then "show up early and ask if able to switch". Supposedly a fix is coming in the new year. ma...

Typical pre-contract negotiation tactic, carrot in the fall "3 classes in 2026" followed by stick in winter "no hiring in 2026".

Re: Who Wants to Fly WJ

Got a chance to fly the plane with the 28in pitch recently. Prior to boarding I went to try out the seat.

Let's just say if I ever have to sit in those rows, the passenger in front of me will be getting a free lower back massage from my knees.

I'm 6'4". Yikes.

Re: For folks around my age (Late 30s)

As I obscurely alluded to in my first response to OP At the end of the day, your family comes first before the company. The corporations will drop you the moment you cease becoming useful to them. Going from somewhere where you are a name, to somewhere where you are a number, is only a good idea if ...

AC and WJ cause AIDS. The smaller the 705, the better your quality of life will be.

If the music for the musical chair stops in the coming 5 years, you'll be better off at PD than AC or WJ. If it doesn't, will you?

Wait til WJ actually looks at the volume of flying SWG was doing in the East, and then deplores the lack of pilots in the East to counter weather-related IROPS. The idiots who agreed to a full reduction bid without seeing 1 winter's worth of flying fully integrated first are gonna look real smart to...

I haven’t heard any 400 new hire talk Apparently that's what was told to current transition class. Correct, I am in that class and heard it. AVH and DP also came for a visit on day 3 and AVH joked that it looked like we'd be receiving a new jet every 2 weeks in fall 2026, making DP a little nervous.
