Re: Science-Based Alternative to Ease Quarantine Act Restrictions

I didnt see that, but I did see a picture circulating online, "split screen", with a screencap of the doctor on the right, and a lady on the left with crazy talk posters. The doctor lives and works in Houston Texas. The crazy woman picture was taken somewhere in Mississippi. Perhaps you have a link ...

Re: Science-Based Alternative to Ease Quarantine Act Restrictions

You can’t make this stuff up. “Donald Trump has praised as “spectacular” a doctor who wrongly dismissed the use of face masks to combat the coronavirus as well as reportedly claiming that alien DNA is used in medical treatments and some gynecological problems are caused by people dreaming about hav...

Re: Science-Based Alternative to Ease Quarantine Act Restrictions

For all of you that feel that seniors that have overstayed their welcome should be deemed ‘expendable’, you should examine the statistic known as “excess deaths” rather than average age at death due COVID. That is a better assessment of the mortality impact of COVID on a population. You can even lo...

Re: Science-Based Alternative to Ease Quarantine Act Restrictions

Keeping the borders closed because of a few stupid individuals is saying that you'd rather potentially destroy hundreds of thousands of lives to save a few hundred people from dying earlier than the average life expectancy. Scientifically the position of closed borders is becoming less and less ten...

And unions are big donors to the Liberal Party, which is surging in the "polls" lately.

AvHerald has pictures from a spotter showing engine scrape damage right after a go-around. Supposedly went around after a "gear issue", then lost both engines on the downwind

Re: Layoff Numbers

We are all fracked. One study released this week expects 42% of job losses are permanent and will not return. Bad for pilots. The auto industry being decimated means less cars on the road, more telecommuting. Bad for pilots. Boomers are the most affected and at risk, young families the most scared. ...

Just read something that the current federal government placed a little paragraph at the end of the funding requests to require companies that accept federal funds to submit an annual report detailing how they are cutting their emissions in accordance with the Liberal Carbon Reduction Plan. If true,...

Same thoughts here. Boomers will not be the first ones to start flying again. That does not bode well for the vacay flying.

Voted 4 years... Because it'll take about 1 month for North America to re-open its businesses, 10 or so months for everybody to get re-hired, or start jobs somewhere else, and 3 years for people to stop cowering in fear and realize that this virus was a convenient economic reset excuse. Same death r...

Re: Recession incoming

The best time to buy back into the market is when the officials formally announce "We are in a recession", which is 2 consecutive quarters of contraction. By that logic, a good time to buy back in will be June-August Timing the market is an impossible task, and dangerous. I get the buy low, sell hi...

Re: Who's gotten a lay off?

Loads are nasty all over YUL. Everyone is suffering. Companies won't burn through cash just to keep unusable employees around when the border closes.

Expect 2-3 months of layoffs for 75% of airline employees in the coming weeks. Hope you have your emergency savings account ready...

I am now 90% in cash. Sold on Peak day + 2. Pretty happy about that move.

Futures down again, looking at what the Fed's QE is going to do to the markets this week.

It's all about risk. Right now the risk of lower equity prices is higher than the chance of higher equity prices.

^ ^ ^ ^ Iran has invoked articles to request assistance from other countries. Which means they genuinely believe it won't look bad for their regime... My guess is uncontained engine failure with LOC-I characteristics. I have yet to see any evidence of missile or AAA action, because, if you look at t...

Read Human Action, by Ludwig Von Mises. Lots of good knowledge in the Austrian School of Economics on human psychology and its effects on the market.

Re: Updated MCAS ‘Safe’ Says MAX Technical Team

Am I to understand that the competency of some foreign airline pilots may have some effect on the possibility of having an accident in a Boeing Max? When 7 pilots ride in the simulator, 2 in the front, one instructor, and 4 standing in the back logging the time like at Lion Air, and when they put 2...
