Re: Pilot Charged with Fraud After Ditching Baron in Gulf of Mexico

They would probably facing one less charge if they just set the Lambo on fire instead of ditching. Those things just catch on fire by themselves from being looked at. I wonder if the insurance companies can even recover the money at this point.

Nothing criminal but you may want to check the contract regarding free lancing or working for a competitor.

Re: "Prefer a Tired Pilot to An Inexperienced one"

What in the fudge?! If they already proven that a sleepy driver operate at the same level as a drunk driver. How in the hell can this industry representative state that a tired pilot is preferred over an inexperienced one? Yes, I know there were accidents caused by inexperienced pilots but there are...

Re: "British Airways: All flights cancelled amid IT crash"

Aren't airline companies lagging horribly in terms of IT system investment (software and hardware)?

Program Analyst with YVR

I read the job description online but can't imagine what the day-to-day work looks like. The involvement of Maximo and an air side vehicle operation permit sounds like it is more than just office work. If anyone currently working in a similar position, I would love to hear more about your day-to-day...

Practice map reading and trip planning since you will get questions based on a sample map.

Re: Aircraft Management

If you find my answer to be incorrect or lacking, please do correct it. I simply used what I know with my limited industry exposure but of course different companies do things differently. Given the ports in the original question, I was assuming the poster was asking about airline operation.

Re: Aircraft Management

Not an expert since I don't work in the industry but from what I know here is usually what happens: 1. Short haul, the plane just fly the return leg and then do more flights. Pilots and cabin crew usually just goes back with the plane. 2. Long haul, planes goes back with new crew while the old crew ...

Possible. They can go to Immigration Canada and say no one in Canada meets their requirement and justify a work visa sponsorship.

Re: TC English proficiency test scenarios/samples

What leads you to think that you can answer questions in another language during an English test? Like we all said, if you can converse in English in day-to-day situations then you will do fine. Don't over stress yourself unless you insert a lot of "ummm" or "errrr" or pauses in your conversation.

I wouldn't bother with Boundary Bay these days. It's way too crowded and you are pretty much shut down during the winter because of weather. I also have opinion of CFC but I will not post them here.

Could this be a crew fitness issue? Long haul pilots barely get enough rest as it is. Don't know what legal rest is for Taiwan is but for HK, it's pretty bad.

Looks like you will need to clear US customs and immigration before claiming your bags and then recheck and reclear for the final leg.

Re: ICAO English Test for Oversea Applicant

Thanks for the quick relies! I only used Langley Flying School as an example and I haven't finalize my list of school candidates yet. I knew IETLS is more of a private standardized test for normal school admission but its reference during my research threw me off a bit.

ICAO English Test for Oversea Applicant

My friend's landlord in Hong Kong wants to learn how to flying in the GVRD region and I'm doing research on his behalf. Since you need an ICAO Level 4 proficiency, how can the one be examined without being in Canada first. Langley Flying School's webpage stated all international students must comple...
