Re: Winter ski operating temps

When i flew the various bush aircraft such as C185, DHC 2 and 3, i would tent the engines then depending on the temps would start rhem accordingly. Regarding slush I would circle the landing area to look at the conditions if obvious slush go some other place. If unsure Always would do a landing and ...

Re: Immersion training

If you are a commercial operator get a copy of what training is required by TC, contact a training provider who does “immersion training” to see what they provide. Compare it with what TC requires if it’s the same copy it and send to TC for approval. The once approved do the training. If the trainin...

Re: Question about Transport Canada recordkeeping

All i can tell you is that If TC has the documents they have to release them ( i worked there for over 30 years) and had to release a lot of ATIP requests that applied to my group, but remember you need to be specific in your request and that the flight tests most likely had and are being done by au...

Re: Question about Transport Canada recordkeeping

It’s in the details but Transport Canada regional TCC’s have to search and release the ATIP to the ATIP office. They are not the ones who do the redacting. Many many years ago they did, but there is a ATIP release form that is completed and signed off regarding what is suggested to be released. The ...

Re: Question about Transport Canada recordkeeping

If you submit an ATIP request with the specific information they have to provide it. The request will be sent to the regionaloffice that provides oversight. The information is searched and reviewed some may be redacted. If you called and asked over the phone they wont provide it.

Re: IS TRANSPORT CANADA OPEN?

Each TCC office has an email address ie commercial operations, aircraft and registration all have separate ones and then the email that is sent is logged in and sent to the proper person. Last i heard the licences are done by any office in Canada.

Re: Operations Manager Study Guide 703

Read the 703 Regulations, Associated standards and review the flight duty times would be a start and then know the contents of your ops manual. Understand the table of contents as that tells you where to find information in the manual and what an AOC plus any authorizations the company has.

Re: Is transport Canada closed

Yes however they have same restrictions as others for number of persons etc in a building. So
Inspectors and others are working from home, call your POI cell number if you are a commercial operator or flight school and keep using the email addresses for sending stuff in.

I am not looking for the evidence just replying to the original question. Not going to get in any argument, that is what was the legal outcome back quite a few years ago and the operator was charged under The Aeronautics Act.

Re: Who here has been ramped by TC?

normally you will be asked for your lic, medical and ppc documents and it is all in one document. You can check to see if the second page has been signed, check to see if the picture is you ( yes mistakes happen). If you happen to get a medical signed off in your old book and you get a new one you m...

Re: Perimeter Shamattawa

As an FYI a paragraph in CASS changed 622.11 on 2019/09/20 to say.....(aircraft manufacturer has identified representative surface). Not like before where the air operator did and at times got approval from TC. 7.1.1.3 Examination of one or more representative aircraft surfaces may be used for the P...

Re: Legal question!

In the Aeronautics Act, 3(1) the definition of an Air Carrier means any person who operates a commercial air service. Commercial air service means any use of an aircraft for Hire or Reward. So if the company "means" a commercial air service then No as it is considered a "reward" to them as you are d...

Well you could call the phone number and ask but it most likely is a clerical position that checks the mailbox then depending on the department the email is forwarded to the TSB inspector for review and followup. He would need a contact name to look into the details and then they would contact the r...

Re: Gate checking carry on in Canada

All nice but if the airlines followed their carry on baggage policy at check in and actually checked to see if it fits in the devices at the gate, there would not be an issue except for angry customers who are told they need to pay for their baggage. Heck why not stuff your bag and carry it on, at t...

Do a search on the topic and you will find a lot of replies to answer your questions. There are courses available and most if not all air perators who have either Type A or B Operational control systems will not even hire you unless you have written the TC exams
