Brampton Flight Centre

What is the outfit like? Professional? Decent? Well structured? No danger of going bust? or on the contrast is it the pits....? Recent experiences please... Btw, is it possible to do the groundschool online for every FTU? or do you study from material provided by the school, i.e books? If so, what a...

Re: Canadian vs JAA Training and job opportunities in Canada.

How do you mean hands on flying?

Surely, the hands on flying part is down to the instructor and type of flying you settle in a career, i.e. Corporate or Airlines?!

Canadian vs JAA Training and job opportunities in Canada.

Folks, I am in a bit of a dillema and I need some information regarding Flight Training in Canada compared to Europe. I am currently about 6 months away from finding out whether my Canadian PR will be granted as it has been a while now and if this is granted then I assume this will open up the way t...

Yes, I have heard the aviation scene in the U.S is heaving, so there are definately some good FBO's out there..

Any recommendations? I think it is likely to be in a state that can offer the best weather and has a good setup to minimise downtime, tech problems etc..

MC, As far as i know, the notion of the frozen ATPL (0 to fATPL) as it is known, allows you to clear the ATPL ground exams concurrently with alongside (or before) your CPL Training - Provided that you meant the hours requirements 150 for CPL etc. Once you reach the 1500 hour mark your ATPL is unfroz...

MC, dont be abrupt! The ATPLs in Europe are undoubtedly the hardest set of exams some one is ever likely to encounter! You do 'more' than work your 'bag' off here! I wasn't asking about a school for the ATPL, this was fpr a PPL, and I know that 'choosing an FTO has nothing to do with the ATPL'. If y...

Well it is not exactly a rush, but more to do with having the option open to fly in Europe on a JAR License and satisfy the beauracrats at the Civil Aviation Authority.. The CAA have stipulated that if I have an ICAO ATPL with 1500 hours (at ATP - Multi-Time) and the regulatory regime enforced at th...

3-6 years really?? That long? Ok, well I will be starting my PPL in June in Manitoba and going the modular route, so therefore the option of progressing from PPL will be open to me in either U.S.A or Canada. Which route will be more viable U.S.A or Canada? This is of course taken into the equation t...

Yes, I suppose Zoom wasn't the greatest of choices...

But you get the jist of it..

To get to ATP, how many hours must you acquire first as an FO?

Canadian ATP with 1500 hours - Time Frame?

Folks, I am after a concensus as to how 'easy' or 'difficult' and the general time frame it would take to log 1500 hours as an ATP. I have heard some have done this in as little as 18 months.. Obviously, (I realise the answers will be subjective) however, I am assuming the only way to acquire 1500 (...

Quality of Life in Canada better than U.K? or not?!

No doubt this will probably spark a riot, but I am just interested in the whole argument about 'Quality of Life being greater in Canada vs UK' as well as more aviation opportunities. Some people state Canada is one of the best countries to live in the world, higher quality of life, cheaper, less tax...

You only need to:

1) Hold a medical for FAA.
2) Write the FAA Air Law Exam
3) Pass the Radio Communications Exam.

Under the recipricol agreement between FAA and Canada, the process is the same whether converting from TC to FAA or FAA to TC!

Yes, this was another consideration which swayed my decision to train in Canada. TSA Authorisation can take a considerable time to come through and that is after being treated like a second class citizen! In comparison to Canada where you can do a PPL or anything under 6 months on a tourist Visa, wh...

Well, I have both category 1 Medical for TC and FAA. I am taking this one step at a time and have given myself approx 6 weeks (official vacation allowance) plus 1 week unpaid to get the PPL. Although, I anticipate that 5 weeks is the average, I have planned for contingency in any case. I plan to do ...

From my understanding Transport Canada regularly conducted spot checks on syllabus and training given by FTO's. The likes of FAA training which is more 'loosey' 'doosey' in comparison to JAA and TC also in my opinion points to this factor. However, I think it is not so much the school but the Flight...

Hi Shamrock104, I will PM you to pick this up with you directly. SDP - No I am not from the Middle East, I am from England. Why do you ask? Hi Slappy,

Yes, that' what I meant. Whilst the eventual aim wud be ATPL, I would go through PPL, Night Rating, Hours Build, CPL, CPL ME, etc to ATPL.

I am jus undecided whether this will be all CAD or JAA. The PPL most likely will be CAD.

Ok, well to rephrase the question..

In terms of quality of training etc, for someone who is about to embark upon the long road ahead and start with the PPL....

Best FTO in Canada for PPL?

Is anyone able to recommend a good flight school for doing a Canadian PPL in Canada? I will progress to ATPL, once I have my PPL and the required num...

I am from the UK and am considering coming to Harvs Air for a Canadian PPL sometime between May and July. As I do not live in C...
