That's partly why the Captain was out flying, to log landings for currency. There's already Part-121 currency regs in place in the US. The FO was a new ATP as well.

Re: YYZ RJ landing Accident
Alrighty, talked to my Endeavor buddy a little more at length today. He's been on some of the internal group chats and has a better idea of some interesting info. The Captain was an experienced sim instructor but only flew the line part-time. The FO was relatively new and had recently required addit...

Re: YYZ RJ landing Accident
I've got a buddy who's an Endeavor FO. He looked up the crew. There was 1 male and 1 female pilot. The Captain was male and was the one on the radio. Grateful they are alive. That's all I know.

Re: More WJ layoffs
I find it concerning the division it’s creating among the groups The primary reason the 4 western LEC voted down the last "offer" was solely based on the unscrupulous manner in which the MEC Chair and the Grievance Chair went around the NC to conduct a backdoor deal with the company. The 4 LEC vote...

Re: More WJ layoffs
All I can say, is the majority of the people who sent harsh messages to the 4 LEC and/or 3 NC, may ultimately end up apologizing and actually thanking them instead. Wait to hear some of the stuff that has gone on behind the scenes, and you'll come to realise a well orchestrated attempt to undermine ...

Re: More WJ layoffs
There is a LOT more to the story than everyone has heard so far. This has been a completely one-sided information campaign. When you hear the details from the other side, which I've been assured is soon, I think most people will have a drastically different outlook on who's to blame. Keep your heads...

Re: 737 Max 8 Simulators
Does anyone have a link to the video of the Asian F/O stomping his foot on the "runaway" 737 trim wheel? It's like 20 seconds long, supposed to be sarcasm for the new MCAS recovery method. Someone showed it to me but I can't find it online. Funny stuff!

Re: Bravo Cargojet Airways.

So close to the threshold of 35R, literally lined up just a few miles short.
Looks like some minor damage to the RH wing tip?

Re: Meet Swoop - WestJet's ultra-low-cost carrier has a name, a home and a purpose
Personally, in 5 years I see Woops becoming the next Rouge. Slowly absorbing aircraft, and taking over leisure routes from mainline WJ. - Encore & Jazz serving the regional market with regional aircraft. (Q400, CRJ etc) - Woops and Rouge serving the leisure travel market with narrow bodies. (737 / 3...

Re: Overseas Contract Information Seminar
There's been a half dozen or so Captains leave WJ for overseas contracts in the last year, mostly in China. Many more are putting serious thought and research into the options available for them.
