ACA

I recently became licensed and will now be acquiring my ACA on the type of aircraft that I have been apprenticing on for the last three years. The AMO that I work for seems to think that an engineer that has been licensed longer than I have (with no ACA) is worth more than myself with ACA. Basically...

That bad eh? I've worked for some shady northern operators in my day. What makes it so bad?

Air Lab.

Just wondering if anyone knows anything about Air Lab in Goose Bay. What are the working conditions like? Shift? Lifestyle in Goose Bay?

Just sent out a resume last week to PAL. Hoping to hear something. Any hiring going on out in the east coast, especially PAL?

Re: Air Canada Jazz London,Ontario

I'm currently on the job hunt as well. I'm from London and was curious about Jazz. I'm worried about getting my log book signed off. Would it be a problem at Jazz? If so I'll head back up to the NWT.

Re: Appreniceship/training

Hey nottooshabby, I'm also from the Kitchener/Waterloo area. I'm currently a 2nd year student at Confederation College. I'd say that your best way to go would be to attend a Transport Canada Certified program. Knowing a couple of friends that attend the Stephenson program I think its another good wa...

Re: Remote cellular phone plans/ reception

I hear ya axial flow, I just got bent over for another three years as well. I had asked the service rep. if there was in fact service in the Wells, she gave me a big negative. Great to hear that I'll actually have some service up there!

Totally agree with you dashguy. The bills do have to be paid. My line of credit will never get paid off making $10 an hour. Those days are over.

Apprenticeship Wages

I am currently in my first year of of education towards my AME diploma. I have sent some resumes out over the past couple of months for summer employment. I have received a couple of responses. The hourly wages have been all over the place, some as low as $10 an hour, and some as high as $20. I was ...
