Re: Advantage......Employer
How is it, that a pilot with 900 hours gets 6 calls, and one who has 800 hours gets none? For the record, this is with willingness to relocate, work for peanuts, and help on the ramp. Also, this pilot calls around to check in and say Hi. I am very confused. Maybe someone can shed some light? Workin...

Re: First Air Engine failure on departure YEG
its a good thing for firstair they are a monopoly in most parts of the north, if they had compitition from real airlines like they are starting to get now they would be finished long ago, i've spent time in the north and south and have never seen a company/airline waste money like them! its a good ...

Re: Time to THINK
Hey Doc, Don't let the negative feedback affect your posts. I, for one, agree with most of your posts. Even though I'm not a very experienced pilot, they make sense to me. It is extremely disturbing to me to hear of bad operators, bad pilot attitudes, and pilots that ignore the first rule of flying...

Re: Summit Air
Just for the record I did work for Summit and I'm definitely not defending the crews what so ever. I agree with you Cat we need to learn from this accident and figure out exactly what happened so it can be prevented from happening again. On that note I hope everyone has a safe 2009!!!!!

Re: Summit Air
Funny such a long argument on crews passing off the blame and not being held responsible for what happened when no one at Summit has claimed it to be anyone but the crews mistakes that led to the accident. Why don't you star a new thread that doesn't implicate Summit employees for not taking safety ...

Re: Accidents are NOT Okay!
Here we go again. Heaven forbid we should blame the crews. At least until the "facts" come out. All tidy and sanitized. Reports full of warm and fuzzy buzz words so popular in the industry. Reports that come out a year or more after the fact. But, don't blame the crews. It's not the fault of the cr...

Re: Summit Air
I heard through the grapevine that Summit was giving their pilots layoffs for Christmas as a result of this incident ....shitty deal Well, if you don't want to get a lay off, landing ON a runway, as opposed to landing somewhere a mile or so away from one, will go a long way in ensuring continual pa...

Re: Summit Air
edited two times due to the fact I have more class than to assume anything that happened on that night. Maybe give it some time before all you arm chair pilot hero's decide what went wrong that night.

Re: Passenger comfort??????????????????????
I would like to add that I agree it's not fair to stereotype all employees with this past experience, in Toronto I had a connecting flight to Edmonton and the 3 crew members were by far the best I have ever had on a flight. This flight from Santiago was just really a shock in what customer service h...

Re: Passenger comfort??????????????????????
Good one! You must work for AC with a response like that. That exact response is why WestJet is Canada's airline. Air Canada gets buisness because people don't always have the option to fly with anyone else.KAFUFO wrote:If you feel that way take the other airline?

Passenger comfort??????????????????????
Would like to share a experience I had on a AC flight from Santiago-Toronto about a week ago and see if any of you agree the crew handled the situation in a unprofessional and rude manner. 1. The lead Flight attendant started the flight off by making a announcement " lady's and gentlemen I regret to...

Re: Cleared on course
That's what I was thinking and I was just going to ask before 5000, just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something. Thanks for the response and the GPS direct info is good to know. The airplane has two certified IFR GPS but the crew are not certified so I guess I just answered my own question.

Re: Cleared on course
My question has two parts one is sort of a hijack so sorry but hopefully someone can help me out. I departed Yellowknife a week or so ago and was filed on a composite flight plan from Yellowknife to Cambridge Bay the YZF portion was IFR. The flight planned altitude was 9000ft . My departure clearanc...

Re: Canadian Flyers International Inc. HO ad
No kidding, what a joke. It's sad that the managment mentality is still that you need 2000-2500hrs to be skipper on a multi.
I have a couple buddies that have 1500-2000 TT and are on a multi turbine making 85-100k a year as captain. (no joke)
