Re: You will be handed your STRIKE FUND shortly.

The ALPA strike pay only starts paying out AFTER two weeks on the strike line. I don't foresee us getting that far.

I've heard he got hired by one of the US legacies. He would need his head examined if he stayed.

Not sure about WS, but AC is pretty conservative in the uniform department and we have a few guys with sleeves.

Depends what the other experience is?

Were you flying around at AT or WS before or on a B1900?

Re: Making 200k+ and going to AC for 55k?

Toxic leadership since CR retired. They don't value the pilots (or any employee). You'll likely be junior for a while even though pay should improve with this CA coming up. If you were single or at least married with no kids and young I'd say do it. But if you have kids your kids are only young once...

Re: How to build PIC/CX while an FO

750hr TT employed in a 704/705 as an FO. Problem is: still need PIC time, night CX and day CX PIC for ATPL requirements. No instructor rating. Let's say under supervision is not an option. What are some options in the YVR area to not be stuck forever in the right seat because no ATPL due to not eno...

Re: Significant Yaw on Landing

(METAR reported wind: 33016G25) Pearson should really build a runway facing that way. I’m pretty sure they have the land for it. After they build one, likely could consider building a second so they could get two runways into wind. In all seriousness, in the last 6 or so years I've not seen YYZ use...

Re: Toronto base wins the PRIZE!

Easy folks, slow down. Our MEC recommended we enjoy our short Canadian summer with our families. It isn't summer yet. There should be no complaint with doing VO now, but come next month and August it will be a different story. Save the jabs till warranted. It's time, the time starts now. We filed a...

Re: Toronto base wins the PRIZE!

Way to got TO! You win the prize that comes with the "highest percentage of those listed to do voluntary work" outside your contractual obligations! You're SLAYING IT! Keep it up, you might win the CUP at this rate! An actual cup in TO, crazy times eh? Albeit the wrong one......but I digress. The c...

Re: Toronto base wins the PRIZE!

As someone from the generation that screwed over the future for the next generation. See I owned it. Now get over it. Stop looking in the rear view mirror. Do not create more divisions. That is anti unity. Now is the time to place unity above all the other noise. Take your frustration and make some...

Those senior are 100% responsible for the mess we are in right now . They SHOULD NOT be compounding insult on injury by undermining a collective effort to better our position in the face of an organization used to exploiting weakness..... The generation that fucked over every generation after them?...

Re: Best Airline to Work For, for pilots living in YYC?

WestJet has their main base in YYC.
AC has a lot of guys living in YYC and many can bid for YYC overnights on the NBs and some WBs can bid for YYC starts.

Freight doesn't care as much if you're late. Often times flights are hours if not days late. Hope you don't like your family. If you're a bat, good news lots of night flying. Some guys are making a tonne of money with the 8 day pairings all dropping into G Days, but 8 days away is a long time for ma...

Follow Charlene's lead. You can start by wearing your ALPA lanyard the moment you get it, if she says to. The thing is, it’s not allowed in the FOM. She will have to get that changed if ALPA wants us to wear it. We can take off the company lanyard as an option. Honestly if we don't have the fortitu...

Re: Does Transat Still Send 2 Across The Atlantic?

They can be. Depends on a lot of factors. There are certainly some transcon turns depending on time of day etc. Also many spots in the Caribbean are covered under an exemption to the new CARS through an FRMS program. So you may fly a UVF turn for example but max duty day is now 15 hours. In very Tra...

Re: Does Transat Still Send 2 Across The Atlantic?

Rouge is following the ML CA at the moment. Under LOU74 it had different rules than ML, but it wasn't exactly to cars. Especially when it came to SFAN. Rouge doesn't currently go to Europe. ML does go to Europe with both 2 and 3 pilot pairings. Out of the west the pairings are all 3 pilots afaik. Ou...

Re: Wide body with no former jet-time

Yeah I agree that flat pay is no issue. I actually support flatpay, however not at the current pay being offered. We should start 100, 105, 110, 115. Then on to formula. Dude? You can't be serious that you support 777FOs being paid 115k a year? Please tell me this is a joke. By year 4 you have the ...
