Re: Grievance update for the 285ish former Jazz pilots affected by Flow

Now that's funny, you think we should shuffle the Seniority List because your Flow Date was not met? Maybe explain that to the ex-Cathay T7 Captain how you should now be Senior to him - good luck with that. You will get zero respect for this position from your fellow AC Pilots or AC ALPA. Well yeah...

Re: List of lower end of bond & training agreement amounts

About seven years ago the cost to train a Metro pilot was well north of $20k a head ($34k comes to mind but I’m not committing to it) whether you did it entirely on wing or sent them to a place like Flight Safety. Sims ain’t cheap.

Notice the places without bonds are typically seasonal work.

I used to just give the candidate a copy right after the ride but I was weird like that. I thought at one time they had to be given if there was a 2 or 1 assessed but I could be remembering wrong.

I would question why I wasn’t considering my alternate or if this was my alternate why ATC didn’t know of my dire situation.

Re: Aerocourse ATPL ground school/seminar worth it?

I didn’t take the course myself (though I did have pirated copies of their course book and exam book) but I know an awful lot who did and they all swear by it. Do you still have the book pdf 😁? More than one person has PM’ed me over this so I’ll clear it up here before the next person does. I’ve ha...

Re: AI Future Effects on Aviation Industry.

Our future robot overlords aside, the current state of the art of AI should make it possible to sift through terabytes of data at lightning speed to identify patterns in what causes delays and suggest or at least model possible solutions. IMO that would produce more concrete and guaranteed results t...

They say its demand, FWIW People say a lot of things. I have no horse in this race but it’s not far fetched that a business would deflect reasons for shrinking to be an unfixable external force. Speaking of, I strongly suspect the ‘blame someone else’ approach is the reason for terrible OTP at the ...

That doesn’t make sense, training is too expensive for them to not try and get a return on it.

Re: Thunder Airlines MU2 accident in Wawa

The most likely way to write off an airplane in that part of the world at this time of year is a runway excursion. It would be borderline difficult to run it off the end so my best guess is it went off the side for any of a number of reasons unrelated to the type.

Terminal Control in Canada has always been too "conservative" compared to the U S Conservative or just uncoordinated? Fly into LAX and your arrival is so well coordinated between controllers that it feels like you’re the only one on frequency. Fly to YVR and I’m not sure terminal even tells the nei...

Ever notice that some F/O's are looking straight ahead after saying Clear Right for a turn(or similar situation for a left turn). That drives me nuts. I had a right seater once who I expected to just phone it in so I watched him to be sure he turned and looked out the window before engine start. St...

It’s real easy to resist, just put your effort into flying smoothly and holding your airspeed and that turn pretty well cancels itself as an option.
