job requirements
"7500TT, 1500 seaplane, 200 BE18 floats, 2000 turbine, 125 C-208 amphib, 1500 retract, current Flight Saftey and G1000, Advanced Seaplane Institute Certification, First responder first aid certificate"
Anyone have any clue why flying a caravan or a beaver would require such requirements? Insurance?

Re: Getting my PPL in Ottawa
If you plan on Multi , Multi - IFR then you'll want to go to the Ottawa Flying Club. 2 Duchesses and experienced instructors make for efficient and high quality training program. With regards to the PPL, the Ottawa Flying Club also offers an extremely efficient booking system and about 20 instructor...

What's with the glamour shots?
Any idea why some of these companies are asking for head shots with resumes and cvr's? Seems a little odd-- Would hate to find out someone is building fake id's or something w/ all of your personal data.

Re: Best Bear gun?
Always keep a 1/2 pound or so of Italian T4 in your lunchbox. Set up trip wires 50 yards outside of your camp. I suggest the following for close quarters security http://www.defensereview.com/stories/aa-12/U.S.%20Marine%20Firing%20AA-12%20Full-Auto%20Shotgun%20(AA12%20Machine%20Shotgun).jpg (copy an...

Re: Aviation career - too old, too debt-ridden? (WARNING,words!)
What's this have to do with this thread? Point noted!
Mechanical instruments are to flying what the horse and buggy was to transportation on the ground.
For damn near $200 dry i'll still stick with mpic time on steam gauges though

Re: should I take algonquin program (ofc)???
Go check out Ottawa Aviation Services, they are next to OFC. Going over there you may notice newer and more choice of aircraft. You may even save yourself 20 grand if you train there. Aviation diploma is virtually useless. Wow, another jealous OAS pilot! On behalf of all the people working hard and...

Re: Algonquin College
I agree, in fact it seems impossible. Is there some web site where they have the flight instructors background listed? I agree ., but we've got living proof over here at the OFC. Great instructors and eager students make for a good mix. Feel free to come on by and meet the crew. Instructor backgrou...

Re: Algonquin College
I am in the first Algonquin Class now enrolled in the Aviation Studies Diploma program (formerly Commercial Pilot Aviation Management Program). The students are working hand in hand with a Top Notch crew of Flight Instructors and Managers at the Ottawa Flying Club on ways to continuously improve the...
