Re: Concorde - fascinating reading.
The F4 could very well have given the Concorde a run for its money. And what the hell do F-35s have to do with a long retired supersonic jet airliner? I believe we have specific types of ordinance to take care of the speed problem? Is there a surplus of terrorist Concorde' over the arctic we need t...

Re: Ever lose the passion? Even temporarily?
Almost lost the passion....A buddy of mine just got laid off at a company in N.SK. Management said that it was due to economic times, although he had almost every PPC on every type in the fleet. It doesn't make sense. I found out later that the owner thought he was bad mouthing the company. He never...

Re: This has to be expensive...C-17 Gear up-Bagram
Watched a program on that aircraft yesterday. They do those steep and hot approaches to limit the amount of time exposed to grenade launches. It's impresive to watch and probably more dramatic to fly. One can picture something going amiss. I know nothing about the C-17, but the a/c that I fly defin...

Something to be taken away from this, after shit hits the fan and before you run like hell to get out of the inferno, reach back and make sure the gear handle at least looks likes its in the down position.
still jealous though that they get to fly a C-17 and im still in a C-172

Re: Amazing one wing landing...
the video that you, Changes in Latitude, showed is of a regional jet making and absurdly hard landing. Yes i have seen the other video of the a/c losing its wing and its pilot some how lands the damn thing. In my opinion its fake, the way he comes down then manages to pull up and smooothly land........

Re: Ornge Pilot Pay vs. Medics Pay
Doc I have to disagree with you. You are talking from a pretty safe position. It sounds like you already have a pretty nice job, with decent pay, and you enjoy your work and your employer. But say that theres a guy out there with a family he has to support and this medevac job comes up. You calling ...
