Re: C90 question

It's no C90, but my uncle works for Northwest Geomatics and they recently picked up a F406 from France and they usually stay up for 7 hours at a time at 7-9000ft. Huge fuel capacity, something like 263+ Gals per side. Plus it's got the twin turbines.

Re: We have trashed the full load thing....now lets do this one

Cat, At the first FTU I didn't give them any information about my background. The guy at the front desk just said that 10-15 is the norm for most people. He also said they had a couple of their instructors get their multi last year and it took them the same amount. At the other FTU, I asked them if ...

Re: Training Costs

100LL was $1.86/L at YXD this morning.

One flight school is renting 172's at $140/hour solo and around $200/hour dual.

Re: We have trashed the full load thing....now lets do this one

ditar, It was at YXD... They still haven't found parts for the engines. It's all a waiting game and they were saying that there's nothing anyone can do (thielert, diamond). They just have this $600,000 ramp ornament. Meanwhile, the club keeps jacking up their prices for aircraft and instructors, and...

Re: We have trashed the full load thing....now lets do this one

After I was finished flying this morning I stopped in at two of the flight schools on the field... And both of them said I was looking at anywhere between 10-15 to get the multi done. What a load of B.S. Now I know that everyone learns at their own pace... One FTU uses a PA-34 and the other "used" a...

Re: Glass Cockpits Training - then fly old instruments???

I just recently finished up my IFR on a G1000 and loved the system. It took me quite a while to decide whether or not to do it on gauges or glass and after talking to people and operators out there, I jumped on the glass boat. At my school we did about 15-20 hours in the sim and went through the usu...

C337

Hey Guys,

I have a family member who is looking at getting a light twin for personal flying. He's considering a Cessna 337 and I was wondering if anyone knew what to expect for fuel burn per hour? Is the suck me blow me a maintenance pig?

Thanks.

Re: PC12 FO

I think the job is a good opportunity for a newbie but if it's going to go to someone with 1000 hours, you may as well apply to Airsprint. And as far as I know they pay more.

PC12 FO

Okay maybe my eyes are bad, but did anyone else read that job posting for a PC12 FO/Flight Follower with a salary of $22k/year?

Seriously, $22k is ridiculous...

Re: Medevac Crash gets FAA Attention

STARS in Alberta uses Night Vision Goggles with there BK117's. From their website: All STARS helicopters are rotary wing Eurocopter BK117 models. The aircraft is well suited to air ambulance duties because of its high performance, rotor design, most poor weather capabilities and its rear clamshell d...

Re: PPL Total Cost

Budget around $10,000.00 for you PPL. You could definitely do it for more or less than that amount. But if you budget for 10k there shouldn't be any surprises along the way.

Re: Float Advice/Help

Thanks for all the help guys. What about TMA or MAT in the dives? I know you need an instrument rating for Borek but what about TMA? I already have a multi just no ifr and I wasn't planning on getting it soon. I see TMA has an add for captains and senior fo's but what about fo's with lower time and ...

Re: Float Advice/Help

Hey Rudder Bug,

I'll have the float rating by the first week in July. I had to push it back a week. If there's a chance to get some float time this season I'll be heading to Ontario forsure. Which operators would you consider applying to if you were in my situation? Kenora Air Service?

Thanks.

Float Advice/Help

Hi Guys, I have a dilemma... All I've really wanted to do is fly floats ever since I started my training but I just don't know what the best route is to get to where I would love to be. Ultimately my goal is to fly floats in Fiji, but I sometimes wonder what the best way to get there is? I have a CP...
