Re: Working while on CEWS

I took a full time job immediately after restrictions were placed at the beginning of the pandemic. At the time, my airline wasn't sure it would utilize the CEWS program. When it did announce it would, it was only until June 6. Then it was until the end of August. Now even further. I know and have k...

So what if he does? Transat has watched many airlines come and go over the years. I have faith they will again persevere. What's sad is some of you actually seem to be cheering for the opposite. At least online...

Altiplano, just gonna come out here and say what everyone else is thinking. You're not nearly as smart as you think you are. I've never seen anyone who thinks they know so much about absolutely everything. And your repeated quotes to tell us not to take it personally is enough. It is personal. Do yo...

How many years do you need to hold a block for narrow body captain ML or wide body FO mainline?

Pic I saw is through a pile of timber. They should park or sell those things or find someone who actually knows how to fly them. How long is tc gonna stand by and let this slide?

Re: DOH merge.

It's the smart move for any Transat investor who wants to get paid. This deal seems off. Mach said they want to secure "at least" 6.9 million shares. If the AC deal is voted down, won't the share price drop back to pre-merger discussion prices? Mach is then holding "at least" 6....

Re: DOH merge.

That value of $14 was established in their original offer, now off the table, to purchase all outstanding shares and take the company private. What guarantee have they provided that once they’ve acquired at least 19.5% at $14 that they will buy out the balance of the shares that they’ve been given ...

It's also the best option for many thousands of employees. But it's clear some of you could care less about them. AC not buying AT is the best option for many thousand AC employees...can’t blame us for cheering on Mach. (And don’t worry, I will welcome you into the AC family with open arms if that ...

Re: DOH merge.

Lol. I'm glad you guys are so concerned for Transat shareholders. 🙄. You also have no clue what you're talking about. Mach has never been serious about any offers. Their entire involvement has been an inconsistent joke. And this new scheme is exactly that as well. A deceptive one at that. Certainty ...

Re: DOH merge.

I've heard AC wants neither our DQ, CCQ nor MFF program after this whole thing goes down. Just flight deck chatter but I've heard we'll personally continue with CCQ but the MFF program is squashed due to AC wishes.

Re: DOH merge.

Is there a date set yet? That makes it hard to plan for the big upcoming equipment bid at AC. For the company and the pilots. I don't know if it's better to assume it's going to pass or not. Everyone seems so sure it will despite major shareholders being against it and the other higher offer. CR wa...

Re: North Star BT67 put down on lake

I don't buy it. Max takeoff power is 100% torque and governs at 1700 rpm. Passed 400' and you set climb power, which is 95% torque and 1700 rpm. So essentially, you don't touch the props until you level out for cruise which could be anywhere between 1000-1500 rpm making sure you don't over torque p...

Re: North Star BT67 put down on lake

Assuming the intent was to reduce prop RPM after takeoff, why would you be pulling the prop levers all the way back into feather? Seems like just another odd theory. It's late. It's dark. You're tired. And the possibly/likely inexperienced FO was staring at the RPM gauges and nothing else. Tough to...

Re: North Star BT67 put down on lake

I meant there was no failure. He went to pull the props back after takeoff and pulled the condition levers by mistake and shut the whole thing down inadvertently. If that happened and you put the condition levers back in the normal position, would the engines fire up again? If so, how long would it...

Re: North Star BT67 put down on lake

Keep in mind could be a rumour only but I heard the PM pulled the condition levers instead of the props. Which when you think about it, is the most reasonable scenario I can think of. Better chance of hitting lotto max on a weekly basis than having true dual engine failures. Fuel contamination seems...

I hope AC doesn't buy AT, what a pain in the ass for us AC pilots. But Calin is brilliant, so he must see something there? 600 plus highly experienced pilots in an industry where they are diminishing. A fleet of aircraft including 15 brand new 321's with the option for (Ibelieve) 15 more. Market sh...

Re: AC offer AT $13 per share

Talk to some of your transat buddies. 80-100 retirements in the next 2 years. There’s 100 of your 300. The other 200 are holding top seniority numbers that will flush out in the next 15 years easily. The transat group was pretty aged before their expansion. The seniority numbers in the last 3 year ...
