Cathay 780
When both of Flight CX780’s engines failed on approach to Chek Lap Kok, tragedy looked certain to its pilots, who hadn’t trained for such an emergency. However, outstanding airmanship led to a safe – if not smooth – landing for the 322 people on board. Now, for the first time, the unsung fliers talk...

Crazy to think its the same type rating for the Hawker 600 thru 900xp. Vastly different aircraft. (HS125)

Re: End of the line for Hawker bizjets . . .
Delays..delays...delays! Sadly, it was the Hawker 4000 program that sealed their fate. Major certification issues arose with this program and Bombardier took advantage of this with their 300. Hawker Beech has never really excelled at the clean sheet aircraft concept. Premier, Starship and 4000 could...

Airlines Face Acute Shortage of Pilots
U.S. airlines are facing what threatens to be their most serious pilot shortage since the 1960s, with higher experience requirements for new hires about to take hold just as the industry braces for a wave of retirements. Federal mandates taking effect next summer will require all newly hired pilots ...

Re: Bed Bugs and Pilots
Hotels have a horrible rep for bed bugs. With my current job, i'm in a different hotel up to 10 nights a month and I recently noticed bed bugs in my apartment! Those little bastards must have hitched a ride in my luggage. Is this pretty common amongst pilots doing multi-day pairings? You poor bugge...

Re: NORAD jets intercept Toronto-bound airliner
Not sure I understand how the intercepting aircraft could "...help the Boeing 767-300 to re-establish radio communications with air traffic control...". If the 767 had been off frequency long enough to warrant a NORAD intercept, surely the crew knew there was a comm problem? Perhaps a fatigue issue...
