Re: Known Ice

Basically if you're in precip or cloud near or above the freezing level expect icing. I dont think that is the definition of known icing. The question is a good one. Despite all that is said here, if you are going up and down through the weather, you are going to eventually encouter ice. It is the ...

Re: Any difference between 3 yr or 4 yr Univ. Degree??

My rough calculations show that there is approximately 1 year difference between a 3 and 4 year degree Sorry, couldn't resist :smt040 what i have found in the world outside of aviation; the 'Honours' degree doesn't mean much over a 'regular' degree if you have one year in the field (or workforce).....

Re: Cheyenne 400 LS vs. MU-2

Why would you want a type rating on the Mu-2 unless you are planning on buying one? If you are looking for a job, that is not the way...at least with our organization. i am doing a bit of home work about buying an MU-2... good call... my gut feel about the aircraft is that it is the equivalent to a...

Re: Cheyenne 400 LS vs. MU-2

what do the CAR's say about the MU-2 and training? could some dude with a moderate time CPL MIFR and a bunch of cash just buy one and fly it legally? or would a genuine bonafide type endorsement check ride be required... only asking this because of the whole FAA SFAR extravaganza... if a Type Ratin...

Re: How will a DUI conviction in Ontario affect PPL and CPL?

A 55 year old American friend of mine has been denied entry into Canada because of a DUI that he had when he was 17 years old  P.S. I'm told that Ontario has just dropped it's BAC from 0.08 to 0.05 for a DUI. .05 gives you an automatic overnight suspension for your first 'oops', escalation af...

Re: Maylan in Dunnville Closing?

With an abundance of instructors out of work, make sense to cut wages. No one can quit cause there's nowhere else to go. This kind of thing makes me sick. That stupid bastard XXXX is a class act. I hope he burns or at least goes bankrupt and ends up on the streets rumour has it that dawei is skimmi...

Re: How will a DUI conviction in Ontario affect PPL and CPL?

It's not so much the criminal record I am worrying about, as I know that this will only restrict me from entering the US and obtaining a job(until I can apply for a Pardon after 3 years that is). US Border Service and US Government don't recognize Canadian pardons for criminal offenses and if you w...

Re: Hey gore & suzuki - get a load of this ya dorks

i agree that 'we' should be polluting less, and hugging trees more... however, at what cost... Carbon dioxide is a byproduct of any form of respiration... we all exhale it... it is caused by fermentation.... the act of making wine, beer, spirits releases it... from what i have read, i understand tha...
