Re: Introductory flight
Perhaps I should have also stated that I was asked up front if I wanted to try it. In truth, if I cannot handle those types of turns/banks/stalls I would rather know it up front that spend $xxxx.xx only to find out much later that I couldn't handle it. In a real life bad flying situation one must ge...

Introductory flight
Two days ago, went for introductory flight in 4 place aircraft. Did two stalls, skids and slides, two 60 degree bank turns for 360 degrees. Was put into control and was pretty well able to keep it steady (no real yaws, rolls etc). However, it took 2 days to loose the nausea. Just wondering if anyone...

Re: Cat 1 Medical
Adalat 30mg. My BP was 155 on top and the Doctor said that is was only a 'little' high. The Doctor is also a pilot and I assume he makes judgment calls on more than just 1 item.
Good luck with yours!

Re: Flight Instructor Records
Hi Hedley, Just curios here. I have seen many posts by you. Are you an instructor by any chance? Or senior pilot for major carrier? ... and people wonder why they take 50 hours to solo, and 100 hours to their private pilot licence  There is absolutely no motivation for an instructor to do othe...

Re: Cat 1 Medical
On Tuesday I went for medical. Wasn't sure if I would pass CAT * period. Primarily due to not know rules about Hypertension (Blood Pressure) I wasn't sure I would be able to every fly a plane. I passed CAT 1 ! And they did not take any blood ( Dracula was out on her supercharged Citation ). They did...

Re: Cat 1 Medical
Hi Hedley, I've been taking one medication for high blood pressure for +1 year. However, when I tried to quit smoking about a month or so ago (oh yea, that lasted about 3 weeks), had to go to Dr. for more anti smoking drug prescription. He did a routine blood pressure test and then asked me if I too...

Re: Cat 1 Medical

Canada listed by site as Good Place to Buy Aircraft
For people like myself that found this forum and are really new to Piloting this might be of interest to you. I am sure the experienced Pilots using this forum already know this. http://www.avweb.com/news/usedacft/182806-1.html and really liked what it said about Canadian Standards with respect to p...

Re: Flight training and career future...
Try entering medical school. First get your BSC, 4 years, then 5 year Meds, the a few years in emerg, then go for your specialty, say heart surgery, another 4 years. After that 16 years, let me know what your 1st paycheck is.

Re: CPL Written Test
Hi *, Brand new to flying (ok, learning to fly). Since at least some of the people here are learning, I thought it might be a good place to ask a few things from your experience. Pilot lingo sure does use a lot of acronyms. Am I correct in assuming CPL=Commerical Pilots Licence? IIRC, one needs PPL ...

Buttonville
Hi,
I am seriously thinking of getting a pilots license. Question is, due to my proximity to Buttonville Airport, I am wondering if anyone knows how good the school is.
Thanks in advance for your response.
