As a professional heli pilot, 39 years in the industry, I would say all the answers here were all correct.

Re: If your pilot dies you are gonna die ;)

I am going toward 16,000 hrs on helicopters and sometimes, I ask myself how I have been able to survive the last landing. lol
But I think with luck it could be done if the pax keeps his cool.

Re: Foreign pilots and helicopter operators

When I wrote my post, the intention was to condemned, bring to light a practice that I don't agree and never agreed with, NOT to talk about my personal life. I have been in the industry for 38 years now, a lot of people know me and I can go back to any companies I have worked for before, at least th...

Re: Foreign pilots and helicopter operators

Funny how things are, when I was looking for work at the end of the summer, (high time pilot) I sent resumes out (never got an answer back) and called a couple of companies that I thought might be in need for experience pilots, no luck there for me. About a week after talking to one of the company I...

Re: If your pilot dies you are gonna die ;)

Unfortunately the vast majority of helicopters that I ride around on have the passenger side controls removed so if the pilot croaks so does everyone else on board. That's right. Also there was an accident in South America (Canadian Aircraft though) were the pilot died at the control during a slow ...

Re: Getting back into it after long hiatus?

Best thing to do is go and talk to a flight school for the legal side of it, meaning returning after 10 years. I am assuming your medical is expired, you will need a class 1 for your commercial heli pilot, also after more than 5 years without flying you will have to rewrite your exams and do a fligh...

Ive seen it at ZVL, it can be controlled unmanned with a playstation control, pretty freakin cool I would be quite surprised if that aircraft was set up for remote control operation. ZVL is the main office for that Company. Use to work for them. The "bladerons" is what gives your pitch angle on the...

Re: Flying after RW PPL

I'm being overwhelmed by theory. I'll see what I can dig up for you. The 206 at least, has 5 gezuz nuts. One on the rotor and 4 holding the tailboom on. The 206 is full of after engineering ideas. Hmmm maybe we should add this to prevent this... And spike knock , WTF? is it bad or is it a byproduct...

Re: For the outsider: understanding aviation culture & pract

If one doesn't naturally fit this personality type, what are the best ways to start transforming one's thinking so it aligns well with the attitudes and skills that will make one a superb pilot? I don't want to change who I am... But when I sign up for my PPL, I don't want to just squeak by. I want...

Allows it here too Gilles. The difference overthere is that the Goverment pays part of the contruction of the swimming pool with the "condition of" we will use the water in case of fire, if needed. They do replenish the pool once it's over. As far as picking up/sucking up water out of swimming pool...
