how long ago was that?

PCC makes them look desperate for pilots, but that place is only updated once a year

Re: West Coast Air F/Os?

So, where do the dock-f/o guys go next? Can they be upgraded to left seat after a couple years? I guess it must depend somewhat on what flying experience they had prior to becoming f/o.... The chief pilot last year did not speak highly of the f/o's, or more like what it took to be one... Hopefully ...

Does anyone have any word on that? I didnt get the whole story, but as I was flying around Pitt Meadows (1500 PST) I heard that a search and rescue buffalo was checking out the ELT going off at mission.

There can be no excuses for them not solving the problems facing the USA - they've been given a blank cheque. sure its a blank cheque. but even a blank signed cheque is useless when theres nothing in the...

Re: have they created a new aircraft piston engine?

Sounds like a Lycoming O-320 to me. There were others besides the notorious H series that had 160HP and most Lycs run strong right to the end. Might have been topped too since some cylinders give you a power upgrade (and hopefully no oil consumption). I (and many others) say an engine uses no oil i...

Re: Best Flight Schools in Vancouver

I spent a few years at YPK as a controller and flight instructor and if you can battle the road traffic, it is a good airport. Runway 26L/08R is 4000" long, 26R/08L is 2500" long as is 18/36. The north parralel is used by the sky-divers and is therefore seldome used by the schools. And the down sid...

I saw your school's name at aberdeen and i thought...could that be? and I decided that it must be a different company with the same name...
(dont know what Sea Land Air would be selling in aberdeen if it didnt have any association with the FTU)

Congrats, I may come check it out.

Re: Best Flight Schools in Vancouver

with everything in this thread about czbb. I would take a look at Pitt pretty closely too. Keep in mind that if you train out of pitt you have a practise area shortly after takeoff as well as they have 3 runways. 26L/08R is great for learning how to land for the beginner and its 7000 feet? (dont quo...

I agree with north shore. I was told a while back by a guy doing all his time building on the school's Multi, "pick what you want to do and build all your commercial time on it, even if its a little more expensive you'll have the upperhand while applying for that hard-to-land first job". I didnt lis...

Re: Recommended Float Plane schools in western canada

Hi everybody, and hopefully become a float plane/ bush pilot. That one sentence there pretty much settles it. If you want to be a bush pilot and fly float planes then your best bet is to go to Air-Hart and do your whole commercial licence with them all on floats. Air-Hart is the only flying school ...

Hate to tell ya but the system is there to serve the airplanes, not the other way around...if a RJ100 makes your life a little difficult, guess what, that's the job. I can assure you the pilots aren't climbing slowly just to irritate you. Calling a design "bad" just because it doesn't have the perf...
