Re: IATA Warning for Canadian Aviation Sector

Well of course the public is scared the media and to a certain extent the governments have been painting them a scary story. How scary is COVID now? I’d say far less scary then they make it out to be. Here’s some one walking in downtown Stockholm sometime last week. https://youtu.be/bamZrEfwx0A Look...

Does that sum include a support program? They are due for replacement but we don't have the cash for that. I was always a supporter of bombardier but I'm done with them. They managed to kill evinrude now too, they're the worst! Bombardier doesn’t own Evinrude, BRP (Bombardier Recreational Products)...

Re: Is Jazz Approach worth it?

First thing you don’t get any seniority at AC. On where you are based when hired, it depends where they need pilots and what seniority you draw. It’s possible that Jazz might not be hiring for 2 years plus. This sort of arrangement works in the pre COVID pilot shortage environment where places like...

Re: USA vs Canadian Airline Career

Not to mention there are now thousands of unemployed pilots in the US, no company is going to try to sponsor a Canadian pilot while they can hire a US pilot without going through hoops.

Re: USA vs Canadian Airline Career

I will save the guff and just get to the point. my gf is american, I am canadian. We have both expressed more interest in working and living in the states. I had a regional job lined up before COVID. Anyone personally gone through this? Pros v Cons? Long term goal would be a legacy carrier, Delta, ...

Re: Brand new pilot looking for advice during COVID

I’d go visit these places. Show your face. Talk with a chief pilot or the owner. They probably won’t have a job for you but in 3 months they might. And someone they met and talked to for 45 minutes stands out a lot more than a guy who emailed his resume for that job.

I got all three (different than OPs desires, I enjoy my layovers) but it took a long time. With this downturn you’ll be lucky to get any job.

Before COVID it had open positions, so open spots for new hires. Going forward it might take years, who knows.

Quasimodo predicted all this, with his pal Notredamus. And it's weird, you've got your hunchback of Notre Dame but you also have a quarterback and a halfback of Notre Dame. I feel like they all work together, right? You never pondered that? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o6NpgNgdyho I need this gu...

Re: Skylink Planes

Jazz requirement is 750hrs(they do need more multi engine time), Encore is 1000hrs, Porter is 1000hrs With 800 hrs you can get on with Encore, Jazz, etc. Why would you go somewhere that pays worse, has a worse schedule + has a bond? I get it why some guys stick around flying for decent 703 operator...
