Corporate Pilots who have made the switch

Looking for some input from those who have made the transition from the corp side of aviation. Starting to reconsider the options as life is changing. Trying to figure out if I would fit in, as I have no airline experience and have been flying corp for the majority of my career. Wouldn't want to ini...

Re: Profile Locked?

888, and tech support seemed to be the only option. FYI, I heard from the gent on the other end of the phone at website support that they have been having problems with this. From what I understand the usual quick fix is to delete your cookies, close your browser and then relaunch. Thanks for all yo...

Profile Locked?

Does anyone have any contact info for whom I should get a hold of to "unlock" my profile on the website? I have gone to Taleo's site and it directs me to contact AC, and AC FAQ directs me to Taleo. I'm guessing I need to contact HR? Would anyone care to forward the contact info. Called the triple 8 ...

Bus Emg Lgd at YYZ?

Anyone have the info as to what took place on Thursday morning (approx 0940), as an AC Airbus (320 I think) landed 15L with the trucks out. I was doing a pre-flight at the time, and heard someone comment on the black exhaust coming out of the No. 2 engine while it was on the roll. Any how, I did cat...

Re: Hypobaric Chamber/High Alt. Training

Mcrit, thank you for doing that. I will PM you to find out the verdict. Just on course on a recurrent and have been chatting with quite a few people who have recently been to the chamber. They all have been saying what an eye opening experience that it is, and that it really should be mandatory to l...

Hypobaric Chamber/High Alt. Training

Anyone know who offers this training for pilots in the GTA? And if so, would love to hear your comments (duration, cost, professionalism of the course, etc).

Tks

Life Insurance....what is everyone doing?

Looking into Life insurance for myself, and having a hard time finding out that most insurance companies will not cover Disability insurance when I'm at work ("while in the airraft"). Just wondering what kind of coverage is out there that some of you utilize who don't get the coverage through work.....

Northwings, To answer your question, the Faclon 900 and Citation Excel are based and maintained in London. The rest of the fleet has maintenance done in Buttonville (Cheyenne's, King Air, Piaggio, Falcon 10/100's). From what I hear they are looking for people in the Buttonville base. Major Intersect...

I had a feeling that there would be a comment about the sked...I didn't go into great detail, but allow me to say this...I get scheduled block of 5 days off every 4 weeks, NOT 5 days off every 4 weeks. I must say that I have a decent sked (I'm lucky in that regard), I'm just looking to help out more...

Sitting at home (broken airplane) on my a$$, and thinking how it would be nice to have the ability to turn some down time into some money in the pocket. So this gets me thinking....what jobs are out there that people like us (fly full time and aren't making great $) could help increase the income by...

Here is the video from CTV's site, just scroll down to the Title " BC Plane Forced to make emrg. Ldg", and click on the video icon. Them boys done good. I wonder if that had anything to do with the new AD that came out for the nose gear on the 200?

Enjoy

Here is the deal from a person who isn't going to blow sunshine up your Ass! Before working at the Island I was at a very reputable company (college program) where the atmosphere was very different. I'm not going to bash island air mainly because it isn't required. You just have to keep one thing in...

I have worked in the service indusrty for a few years living off of tips and the generosityof others, now that I fly full time I have to say that I now find myself in a grey area. Let me start this off by saying thanks to all those at London FIC who help us to no end! Like many of us, we all start out the flying day on the phone to FIC getting the briefing to see what you are up against for that days flight. I think that we all could agree that many a time the info on the gro...
