A good source tells me it was a 180 amphib, not sure where it was based.

Re: Amphib landing with one wheel down. On water!
Interesting Cat.... You would still land on land with only 1 main down?? I have had this conversation with a handful of amphib guys and the conclusion we came to was, 1 main down you take the water, any other combo go for the runway... We figured if you went for the runway with 1 main down its guara...

Re: Amphib landing with one wheel down. On water!
Don't know any of the details but I would hope the pilot did not know the wheel was down as the landing looked quite flat.... Having seen this exact situation happen twice it seems it makes more sense to land on one float, keeping the wheel down float off the water as long as possible, slowing your ...

Re: Beaver job in FiJi?
Hey guys.... So I have been biting my tongue for a while on this one, in fact after everything that has been said on this topic in the past I am surprised that we are even having this debate.... Anyhue, you need to put things into perspective. $1400 USD (and this is a starting wage) is equal to a 73...

Re: Dropping Out of Confederation College Flight Program
Geeze..... What is our world coming to????? Don't we have enough pilots as it is??? If Confed passed all the young bucks who were hung over or just didn't show up to class would there be any jobs at all? How many students make it through the first year at Seneca or Sault? How much flight time do the...

Polar one... OK we understand you USED to work there, and I know from first hand experience that at one time it was definitely not the place to work... First and most important of all B6 is barely involved at all, he spends most of his time in his house on the island drinking kava... In my time ther...

Re: RE: Fiji job posting
Beerhunter... Once again I believe you are missing the point, no one is here to make lots of money or try to pay off the national debt.... The pilots who fit in here come to see Fiji, experience something different and as Phillyfan said "meet" backpackers from all over the world... Your friends in M...

Re: "Just drive'r Sonny!" - The Duck
I heard the terrible news so I thought I should share a quick story about Granny Duck. I Met Duck on the Dock at Kenora, one could immediately tell that this man knew how to fly a plane. The one thing he taught me that I will always remember and still use to this day (other than how to really fly a ...

Try Summit Air, last I heard they were offering rotations for captains..... I think most of the rotations are on Baffin though..... No beer and even colder than the Knife, sounds like a long winter!

Re: The quickest way to go from a float to another on a Beaver
Nice Moves!!!! Do you actually use this other than when you are at the dock? i can't imagine attempting a tough offside docking while full of passengers... pull the mixture, mags off, steer it as best you can, out the door to the front of the float and........ SPLASH!!!!! Pilot in the drink and Beav...

Re: Beaver David clark x11 Headset
I personally have not tried either of these headsets but what I can tell you is that the Flightcom Denali is an expensive piece of garbage. The noise canceling in the beaver is ok at best, and batteries only last 4-6 hours, 2 if your using rechargeables. The plastic headband is useless in a Yellowkn...
