Re: Flyig after removing a tooth
It all depends on what your concerned about. If your worried about the anesthetic, the post above answers that, if your worried about the increased G load putting pressure on your surgery site and perhaps blowing a stitch, then my guess would be a week or two, as thats how long it took me to return ...

Re: Mount Royal College
It appears things are changing for the worse. To start, the college administration got rid of some of their best and most experienced people. For what I could not guess; I knew these people to do their jobs well. Also, the college administration, whom has no aviation background supposedly decided i...

Im not specifically talking watches here, actually, what I am asking, is say I lose my watch and I am supposed to go flying in an hour, does my cell phone, iPod, etc work as a "Reliable Timepiece".

"Reliable Timepiece".
Just wondering as to what the definition of a "Reliable Timepiece", one of the requirements for day-vfr is? Is it by definition a wristwatch, or will anything that displays the time suffice?

Thats how I do my landings always.cgzro wrote:I'd suggest learning to land pretty much from power fully off as you turn base. Take the power out of the equation. Removing one variable helps considerably. Also really good forced landing practice.

Landings.
Anybody got any good tips on nailing those landings? specifically short and soft's? Lately I haven't had the greatest luck with them, I'm always coming in too low and slow, or I come in good and I balloon on the flare. I think part of my problem lies in the flare, cause I always seem to float down t...

There was some ceremony at City Hall the other day that had to do with 4 Wing, and they were doing some flying around friday to get ready for it, then did flypasts at the ceremony. If I remember right, it had to do with them getting permission to enter the city or something along those lines... some...

I hate to hijack your thread, but I also hate to start up a new thread asking a similar question, so I'm just going to ask it here anyways, because it is a question that has bothered me for awhile... About riding in the jumpseat, is there any possible way to job shadow a pilot in the cockpit (like s...

About this whole going into Afghanistan and Iraq business, immediatly post 9/11, EVERYONE wanted the United States to launch an offensive attack against Bin Laden, and frankly, had he not, instead of talking about how he shouldn't have invaded Afghanistan and Iraq, right now we would be talking abou...

Re: Logbook/PTR certification
What the heck is this signature thing? In 10+ years I have never had anyone ask me for a signature in my logbook. I think for the logbook, its the little "I Hereby certify that this information is correct at the bottom of every page. I don't think you need it signed by any instructors or anything, ...

Re: Hockey Teams Travelling
Do you have much time for socializing with the players ? Does each time charter its own Air Canada Jetz plane? Cause I notice on the canucks photos there are canucks logos on the seats. I am assuming you don't go through changing the logos as every team boards? Also, what kind of crew gets to fly t...

Re: Westjet Pays Off Media??
I dont think that they pay off the media, I think it all has to do with customer service... some of these reporters fly around alot, covering different stories around canada and the world, so they get to know each airline pretty good. Air Canada's stereotype is that the flight attendants are bitchy,...

Okay, so I have a question regarding credit at flight schools... Had lunch with a young lady today, who is in the process of undergoing a promotion to manager at CATSA. So I wrote the IATRA (Two Crew). Got only 58%! I was horrified  Then it comes out that the exam sho...

About the question regarding single runway op's at cyyc, they almost always have at leats 2 (4), if not all 3 (6) runways going, 34-16 usually handles the biggest aircraft, like any 747's, older style aircraft that need the extra runway (something like a mile long runway, might even be a bit more), ...
