Re: Ferry Flight to Australia
gwagen it is an Air Tractor 802. So 2700 L in the hopper and 1440 in the wings. That makes 4140L or 7659 lbs at 500lbs an hour. 15.3 hours of fuel.
The 802 does the trip every year. Or did with Conair. This is one of the last things I am looking for help with.
Thanks CB

Thanks guys I am very looking forward to it. Just need some help on the routes a pilot might take. I'll try and take photos, not much of a picture taking guy.
And Bede it is an Air Tractor.

Ferry Flight to Australia
Hey Guys and Gals I might get a chance to do a ferry flight to Australia. The plane can hold about 15 hours of fuel. So I can take the Hawaii route. IT is equipped with and IFR panel with two GPS's. I would also bring my own GPS for redundancy. Big things I need help figuring out that I am having tr...

Re: STOP THIS PILOT-IN-WAITING...
To the new CPL guys and gals out there. Some of you will get flying jobs right away and good for you doing that it is a nice break. I didn't want to go the instructor route, so I chose the dock. One thing I never stopped doing while working the dock was looking for a flying job, whatever it was. So ...

Re: Susi Air AT802F
The Spec sheet on their webpage that you linked also says it can carry 7-9 passengers. And if it is the fuel hauler and i suspect it is, says that it can carry a 820 gal load. The fuel boss can carry 4000 liters (1058 us gal or 880 imp. Gal.) Someone isn't doing this job that well. I will concur tha...

Re: Susi Air AT802F
Trevor I would have to agree with you, that that looks like one of Wilderness North's Air Tractors. Even more so with the DG stickers on it. If you go to the Susi website it doesn't talk about hauling fuel, but Fire Suppression. On another point, I'm not sure who owns the STC for the "Fuel Boss" as ...

I like the Bose QC15 and uflymike. But they are in the process of making a new Mike for the QC25. Not Bluetooth but think you can still cord your phone into it.

Gallet uses the Headset Inc ANR as well. I have heard they are good I want the option with the Bluetooth and aux input after I get used to the plane and the job. Or for any ferry flight I have to do. I just really like the look of the LA 100 over the other helmets it looks even better without the vi...

Re: Helmets
I am really liking the Ballet LA 100 but also looking at the EVO 252. I am definitely going to get AMR I have used it on many aircraft. WWW.tigerperforance.com said they would put Bose A20 in if I sign a liability waiver. It is the standard ANR in the EVO helmets. How do you guys and girls like the ...

Thanks for the info Adam. I'll let you guys know what I end up getting after Christmas. I don't need anymore expenses this year for tax reasons. Although with the money I will be throwing into North battlefords economy maybe I should.

How tall are you? Well with bare feet not in work boots I am 6'3". If my first job is in a Pawnee it is a tight fit. I haven't sat in a 188 I have a Pawnee and an 802. I know not to cheap out on the helmet. I want it to last. I am just doing a bunch of research before I buy one. I wouldn't chop up a...

Helmets
Hey guys and gals I am embarking on a shift in the industry, moving to crop dusting. I am looking for a helmet. The ones that I see the most of on the interweb seem to be Gentex, Gallet, Alpha, and maybe Evolution. I am not a short guy; so maybe this is not a good change for me, but I would like som...

Re: C206 VS Beaver
I will attest to teepee creeper. The 206 is a great machine on wheel, especially with a pod, it really helps keeping the c of g forward. Tighter spots the beaver wins hands down water or wheels. As for room it is kinda a toss up I'd say for room side to side the three across is kinda tight in the be...

You can't swop out that straight blade for shaving. You need to look good for the Women. But that knife looks like it weights more then some of the Americans I take to camps.

What do you carry on your hip?
So I am a multi tool enthusiast, I work in the bush like most people that read the bush forum. Wondering what tool or knife you gals and guys wear on your hip if any? List any other EDC (Every Day Carry) items you take to work with you. It might help the green ones out there go to their first job wi...

Hey Digits I always wanted a float rating and got one eventually. I worked for two float operators while I was in the Bush but only flew wheels. I was lucky enough to go back to near where I worked for a wedding and I talked to my old boss that had always said he would give me one and he gave me one...

Re: The North West Company
That is pretty much what I have heard but they are looking for a CAPT not an FO this time around. If they are hiring a CAPT then the only flying you'll be doing with the CP would be the training. I know they have two planes and when I met the CP in Berens River Manitoba he told me to apply for an FO...
