Re: Air Canada Pool
Yes, quite a few Jazz pilots have deferred....Jazz has also started to defer (hold, freeze..) pilots for 1-3 months.

BTW, Jazz has not been owned by AC for quite some time now....

Re: Chorus to acquire Voyageur
Looks like Voyageur ops will be status quo. My guess is the acquisition was mainly for the maintenance side of things, the 300 life extension program perhaps. Also, there will be several tired 100's coming out of the Jazz fleet over the next several years that could still be utilized elsewhere.... J...

Re: New CPA and flowthrough to Air Canada?
New hires will be included with the other regionals on a "per capita" ratio, or something, to be decided by AC once the original list is exhausted.

Re: Air Canada Pool
DP, If a Jazz pilot turns down a job offer, there are two options. Return to Jazz under the new pay scale (which is a pretty big pay hit for a "classic" driver), or take a severance package and move on. Keep in mind the aim of the exercise is to lower Jazz payroll and reduce AC's CPA cost. For every...

Re: dash8 classic question
My first guess would be zero fuel weight. Weather/alternate issues could also be at play.
We do our best to make it work, but sometimes it simply won't.

Re: Air Canada Pool
The PMA is a business deal between AC and Chorus. ALPA and ACPA may have had input, maybe not. Ultimately the deal was signed by those way above our pay grade. Yes, it is basically a severance package. A deadline for signing the list has been extended with the news of some sort of delay mechanism. W...

Re: New CPA and flowthrough to Air Canada?
I said before I will not discuss the TA until after the ratification vote. There is a lot more to the TA than wages. What I will say is that AC did not want ANY of the 100/300's to stay at JAZZ, the fact that we are keeping the 300's is in itself quite remarkable. If it went the other way there woul...

Re: New CPA and flowthrough to Air Canada?
Ok, one more time. Flow is an AC/Jazz document, ALPA had no negotiating power wrt it. The flow document is entrenched in the extended CPA, if flow does not get passed, neither does the TA, and vice-versa. This TA was achieved through informal discussions, and as such are not bound by the rules/timel...

Re: New CPA and flowthrough to Air Canada?
Folks, the PMA was negotiated by AC & Chorus/Jazz. ALPA had input, but was not directly involved in negotiations! ALPA, doesn't want the rush either, thats the timeline given to ALPA by AC and Chorus/Jazz. There is no option/room to negotiate any more financially or timewise, that was made abundantl...

Re: New CPA and flowthrough to Air Canada?
DH772, its totally relevant, Jazz and AC are 2 separate companies, it is impossible to promise a flow to AC to a new hire. Last time I checked, Westjet owned Encore, pretty easy to make that promise. I'm not going to comment on the TA until the vote is complete, but I will say there is a lot more to...

I live in Elora,on a good day just over an hour to the parking garage!
Fergus would be a bit shorter, housing a bit less $$.
Both great small towns with lots to offer, close to Guelph, KW area.

Re: New CPA and flowthrough to Air Canada?
Folks, the numbers in the press release are MINIMUM # of frames that are guaranteed to be at Jazz in 2020 & 2025. There may be more, but there will not be less. If the plan is to migrate Jazz high price pilots, the deal better be good, or it will simply not work. A good analogy is AC has a 10 step p...
